Animal Kingdom - Pandora Opening?

I know that nothing is written in stone, but when are they "hoping" to open this new area in Animal Kingdom?

We are planning a WDW vacation for October, 2017 and was wondering if we'd be able to experience this new attraction.

No official date yet, but everything I have seen says 2017 so I would be very surprised to see anything this October.

Your trip in October 2017 sounds good for seeing Pandora. CMs in the park are expecting Pandora to be open in the fall, with a possible soft opening in early fall.
