PreBaby Family Vacation April 2016 Day 6
April 14th
On Thursday we were up early again for another pre-park opening breakfast at Animal Kingdom. We were seated 20 minutes before our ADR time. Had some good interactions with the characters, and of course some delicious food...I absolutely love Tusker House’s breakfast.
We walked out in time for the drummers and DS actually got to go up and dance with the dancer this time. It was just him and one other toddler. He loved it. Afterwards we got some awesome pictures of him talking to one of the drummers and the dancer.
Then we were off to visit with Mickey and Minnie at the Adventurer's Outpost. Every time DS started to walk away, Minnie gave him another hug. He was having such a great time. Then we were off to the Maharajah Jungle Trek to search for tigers. DS asked for his camera to take pictures in the bat room. We did get to see a tiger, but just one. DS got tired so we sat on a bench and snuggled for a bit. We were walking past just as Flights of Wonder was about to start, so we caught that show.
Another first for us, we decided to try Pizzafari for lunch since DS loves pizza so much. Very nicely decorated.
After lunch we met up with my sixth grade teacher and his wife, who long ago became a friends of my whole family, in Africa to go for a walk along the Pangani Forest Exploration trail, rode the Safari got a Dole Whip as a snack and then caught Festival of the Lion King. DS loved getting to spend time with them. They head out after that and we did a photopass picture and then decided rather than push our luck with the clouds that were rolling in, we would head over to Kidani for our dinner reservations early. The rain started just as the bus began to drive. We happened to have our refillable mugs with us, so we filled them and sat in the "library" in Kidani and listened to some drumming and watched the animals in the rain. We met my other local friend for dinner at Sanaa and had a delicious dinner while DS slept on the table (poor kiddo). He slept through all of dinner, slept through the walk to the bus, slept through the bus ride to a park, opened his eyes briefly while we transferred to the line for the bus for our resort, slept through the ride to our resort, and slept through being transferred to his bed, then (mostly) through the night. It took us about an hour to get back to the room just because we had to ride a bus to a park and then get on the bus back ot our hotel, but Sanaa was so deliciously worth it.
