Default AK vs HS? Which to skip if you have to?

I will be going to WDW for just 2 1/2 days in a few months (May 2016). Unfortunately it's such a short trip that I'll have to skip 1 park. MK and EPCOT are must-do's for me, so that leaves Hollywood Studios and Animal Kingdom.

I haven't been to WDW since 2008 so keep that in mind because there is a ton of stuff I've never experienced before! But I'm leaning towards going to Animal Kingdom at this moment because I'm a regular at Disneyland and Hollywood Studios reminds me a lot of California Adventure but AK has all different things to offer.

I would skip Disney studios if I had to pick. Animal Kingdom is a favourite for me!!!

I would skip HS nothing there as far as we are concerned. Was at WDW for a week in Sept and only went to HS for about 2 hours. It was a great waste of time.

I agree with others that I would skip HS. We were there for a week over the summer and were there until 4 one day, and that was only because the daughter of friends we were traveling with took a nap so we were sitting and chatting while she napped...would have been out of there much sooner, otherwise. We ended up at AK twice during our visit. We have a four day trip planned for April, and we only have a morning planned for HS (so my almost 3 year old can go to Playhouse Disney Live, otherwise, we would probably skip it all together).

    NEXT TRIP -

This is a tough choice. I was going to skip animal kingdom when we went but we did it anyway and I have to say I enjoyed my time. It's definitely only a day trip even when we did the scavenger hunt with 3 kids. It was fun and definitely more than a Zoo as have some told me before experiencing it myself.

Hollywood studios on the other hand was a must see due to the whole Star Wars side of the house so to speak...So it was a must see.

So for me if you could fit another day then I would suggest that. Both AK and HS are definitely day trips so if you can squeeze it in that would be good.

It is a tough choice but with all the construction in Hollywood Studios, I'd select that as a skip for this trip and go to Animal Kingdom instead.

I would skip AK. In my opinion, ToT is one of the best rides at WDW - the theming, technology, etc. Also, TSM is one of the best family rides at WDW. I also like the feel and atmosphere of Hollywood Studios.

While Tot and RnRC are two of the best Disney attractions, I think HS is undergoing too much of a re-do to spend much time there. I like TSM also but the lines are too long to make it worth it without a FP. WE find that we can spend more time in AK, because we love the Jungle Trek and the Forest Trail, in addition to the attractions. Also we can't miss Festival of the Lion King, our favorite Disney show. Just a personal preference. If you can only do one of these, I'd choose AK right now. The future may be different.

I'll throw in my vote for skipping DHS. Mainly because they've closed down so many attractions recently and the new ones they've planned (which sound awesome!) won't be here for quite some time.

I'd skip DHS too for now even though I'd like to see the Star Wars fireworks. Animal Kingdom has so much going on even with Avatar Land not finished yet. Especially once the Rivers of Light show starts in a month!
