Default Baby's first WDW trip - Day 6

There are only 3 park days left and everyone is up and out early today. We have 8:20 reservations for Be Our Guest. I strategically did this for a morning when the park opened at 9. I love the empty park feeling on main street!

We make it to the TTC early and catch a monorail to the MK after a bit of a wait. Outside the kingdom is already busy but we manage to find the right line and head down Main Street. It is a gorgeous morning for mid december, sunny and warm! We even get a free balloon from a castmember on our way there. We also stop to get some family shots in front of the castle.

We check in to Be Our Guest and order. This is our second trip there for myself and DH, we had done dinner out last trip. We find a large table in the main room and sit. I'm a little put off, its very loud and crowded. Our food arrives shortly. Everyone is pleased, I get the assorted meats and cheese and while its very good I don't think this is on our to do list again. It was nice for my parents and sister to see the inside but I don't think its worth the price tag.

As we finish up we realize its 5 to 9. We couldn't get fast passes for 7DMT and this is our only shot to do it. DH and my sister take off early to hop in line and get a baby swap. The line is loooong already. Meanwhile myself and my parents take DS for a second ride on Small World. Unfortunately before this no one had asked to see the baby for the baby swap an with how backed up the line was they don't get to a castmember until we are on the ride. DH uses his phone photos to prove he is indeed in the park with a baby and they give him the pass.

When we get off small world they are still waiting so I take DS on the carousel. In all my trips I've never been on. He has a blast and we are surprised with the Evil Stepmother and Ugly Step Sisters taking a ride with us! It makes for an awesome trip around. When we get off DH and my sister are there with the baby swap so the rest of us head to 7DMT. We are on and off in just a few minutes. The ride is fun, if a little short.

Next up we have fast passes to meet Mickey. We head back to the toon circus area where I mistakenly believe him to be. He's really up on main street. Oops. We hop onto the Railroad to save us the walk. DS loves loves loves the train. Its a short ride to Main Street and a short ride to Mickey. We aren't big character people but DS LOVES mickey mouse so we decided to give it a go. The talking Mickey is AMAZING. DS adores him and we get some great photos.

Next up is DS's first hair cut! We head over to the Main Street barber shop. There is just a short wait and soon DS is in the barber seat. I'm totally and completely impressed with the people here. DS is everywhere but she manages to do a great job, in a short amount of time. Also for $25 the hair cut, plus a pair of ears for DS, a certificate and a little pouch for his trimmings is a fantastic price. I'm so glad we held out and waited for his first haircut here.

When we finish DS is exhausted and a mini meltdown ensues. We settle him into the stroller and after a bit of walking he finally gives in to sleep. We head back towards Frontierland. DS's nap is short so we grab him a hotdog before heading for splash with our fastpasses. But splash is down, the water isn't even running. Disney beats me to the punch though and gives us a pass good for a large number of attractions. Fair enough.

We opt for Dole Whips and sunshine. Then we do a quick trip through the tiki room. After this we decide to use our fast pass for Pirates. Last but not least we have a fast pass for Space Mountain so we head that way and get in a quick ride. Everyone is finally pretty beat so we decide to head home for a break.

After a bit of a break we head back into Epcot. We grab a quick ride on Spaceship Earth then head back to World Showcase for our dinner reservations at Spice Road Table. We did the Candlelight package. I had the shrimp appetizer and lamb for dinner. Both were fantastic and our waiter here was great.

After dinner we wandered through the Japan shops for a bit then hopped in line for the Candlelight Processional. I'm going to vent for a moment. The waiting in line here made everyone cranky. The castmembers we encountered here were not very nice. It was the only time the whole trip. I hate that even with the package you feel like you "have" to be in line. But wait we did.

The show was excellent as always, forgive me but I can't remember the comedian's name who was the speaker but she was excellent and added in her own humor in the beginning and end. DS slept through the whole thing, i was impressed given how loud it is. We hung out for Illuminations and headed home after.

I'll also add here a few days after this I received a survey about our experience with the candlelight package and how'd we feel about assigned seating. I was an enthusiastic YES to this idea. I hope they carry through with it to avoid the nonsense of people getting in line 2 hours before the show starts.

Yes, the reality of the Candlelight Processional is that even with "reserved" seats, it's almost a necessity to be on line as soon as one show has seated. In our case, it was doubly important as there was a heavy rainshower in the middle of our show. We were fortunate to be seated under cover but had we not waited on line prior to the show, we likely would have been drenched!!

You've had some really busy days!!
