The Good Dinosaur and it's not close

I wanted it to like it, so it's hard for me to pick The Good Dinosaur
-
At least that part where they hallucinate is funny
-
I felt no emotional attachment or concern for characters at all.

Can I say Cars 2?
-
No, Disney fans pretend Cars 2 doesn't exist

You're right. Cars 2 was pretty bad. Are we still even allowed to think of it as a Pixar movie?

I would have said Wall-e. To be worse than that must be horrible.

We saw a brief preview of The Good Dinosaur at DHS a few weeks ago and all I can say about it is "Meh".

I took my 9 year old son yesterday to see it. It wasn't bad at all. Pretty good. Aesthetically, just amazing and definitely Pixar's most realistic portrayal of the natural world. The story was basic but done well. If anything, the movie was weird and kind of disjointed and more intense than I expected. There was one scene that I felt was completely unnecessary and inappropriate that referenced getting high. Otherwise I would give it a solid 3 out of 5 stars.

There's this movie you should really see called "Finding Nemo." :-)

Nope. That was good effort but still looked computer generated. With the exception of the dinosaurs, there were several points during this movie that I forgot I was watching animation.

The Good Dinosaur may not be Pixar's best, but it is way, way better than Cars 2. That was a total turkey. I loved Cars, but the sequel was a poor effort at trying to capitalize on merchandising without a very good storyline. Pixar should be ashamed at that one.

On Rotten Tomatoes it currently sits at 77 percent. The only ones worse are Cars 2, naturally, and Cars, at 74 percent - but I would argue Cars is far, far better than The Good Dinosaur.

Cars is very underrated. It is a wonderful story and has huge appeal. Cars 2 had NO redeeming qualities whatsoever. It is Pixar's absolute worst product, hands down.

I enjoyed Cars 2 well enough (certainly more than the trash that is Wall-E, IMO). People enjoy movies for different reasons.

Wall-E is second worst on my list. My husband likes it though. People all do have their own tastes. There was a list on IGN a couple days ago where they ranked all the Pixar movies. The list was SO wrong, in MY opinion.

I have not seen the movie, but read this comment on it.
"The Good Dinosaur is by no means a bad movie. But it breaks new ground for Pixar in that it is the studio’s first feature that is explicitly—and pretty much exclusively—a kid’s movie." Christopher Orr·The Atlantic
For those of you that saw it, do you find this to be true? Or, is it not even good as a kid's movie?

I absolutely did not find this to be true at all. The movie was about friendship, facing your fears, and family. Definitely NOT a "kid only" type movie.

Well, I'll say this, my four year old boy is completely obsessed with dinosaurs, if he wasn't the target audience I don't know who was. His conclusion after the movie? "Momma, I don't want to see that movie ever again"
