Default Drunk Man Climbs Mexico Pavillon

    http://www.orlandoweekly.com/Blogs/a...exico-pavillon

I'm surprised this hasn't been a topic of discussion yet! I'm not here to promote it.

In fact it seems like every year for the past few years there's been at least one major story about poor behavior while intoxicated at F&W. I don't mind people drinking within reason, but we just don't find F&W to be that enjoyable. It's far too crowded.

I'm maybe just a little surprised though that in 33 years no one's (or no unattended child) has ever climbed those pyramid steps. Maybe you have to be drunk to make the news?

Actually, when it opened in 1982 many people climbed up it, or at least tried. The large mural at the bottom was an attempt to stop that. This was all well before the F&W festival so a direct correlation isn't really accurate.

I think this happens more than we hear about. I know I heard a similar story a couple years ago during F&W Fest. People are so dumb. This guy probably is banned for life for doing this. What a bad end to what was probably a fun day...

I'm assuming that's all Disney parks? To a true Disney fan that might be a fate worse than death!

Despite what the article says, according to local media the guy managed to evade Security when he climbed down, so he was never identified. Thus, he could not be banned. I also question just how drunk he was; he climbed up pretty quickly and nimbly.

Well, he got lucky in more ways than one. Although, I will say some people's athletic skills increase with alcohol consumption. At least, that's what I heard...

He was caught and banned (according to my source in Security). Once he went over the "facade" the only thing past that is a flat roof building and there are no ladders down to the ground (20+ feet tall walls). No way to get off other than going back the way he got up there or being "escorted" off the roof. I'm sure there is a roof hatch to the inside of the building but all that I've seen in some of the other buildings have padlocks on the inside to prevent unauthorized access to the roof.

Yeah, he scaled it pretty nimbly, but my trip up was even more fleet-of-foot AND I was baby-wearing. So top that.

My understanding is that the guy decided to climb the Mexico pavilion instead of using his Tier 2 FP+ that he was forced to get for Imagination.

    Lol

    It was probably more fun.

At this point in FP+ history, I'm not sure a ban from Disney World is a fate worse than death.
I'll meet you at the Rainbow Bridge.
