You'd think, given the price. Then again, I live in a college town (Ann Arbor - GO BLUE!), and on "football Saturdays" people near, and not so near, the stadium convert their lawns into parking lots for the day & charge $20 or more per space. The houses within a block or two of the stadium charge twice that. Just another thing that steams my cheese, but they're is nothing I can do about it. Grrr.

They will just spit on you, then put their hand out demanding payment... of course, you need to book the spitting 60 days in advance...

I do think the price is a bit ridiculous, but also agree it's on par for many events and places.
That said, with the new tiered pricing and parking being included in all, and resort guests who get parking with the package, I'm wondering if they have a huge number of parked payers anyway? Maybe 1 or 2 day visitors?

The difference between WDW parking and the other scenarios is that Disney owns the entire property. It is an artificial market. Not saying they should not do that, but it isn't really a free market operating like private owners and operators near a sports venue.

This doesn't surprise me, nor does it really bug me.

Parking at our local amusement park is AT LEAST $20 (I think it was more the last time I was there). Seems pretty standard for the industry.

Still, those costs do add up ... especially with all of the other increases announced today.

Santa's Village, parking still free... Back from a trip second year in a row... Everything reasonably priced, room was $100 a night (also owned by Santa's Village) and staff was second to none... We arrived late, they left the key out on the front desk for us with a note that we could pay up in the morning. My jaw dropped!

Admission was $30, a giant scoop of handmade hard (not softserve) ice cream was $3.25. I think we paid about $25 for lunch for three of us. And OMG the White Mountain area is gorgeous this time of year.

While $20 is a lot...Sesame Place is $17 (and the park is tiny compared to just 1 park at Disney World), Kings Dominion is $15, Six Flags America is $20...just to name a few places I've visited recently.

John, you beat me to it. And you could have added that admission is free, as well! (Granted, not apples-apples, but still...)

I think what's most difficult to swallow, as Tekneek got to, is that it's all the same monolith taking your money. And when you're charging me more money to just be able to get in and then give you even more money, it doesn't sit well. It's not like their cost for providing parking at the parks has gone up.

I say this having not paid for parking in over 10 years, of course...

Exactly what I was going to post. They should change their slogan to, "every last penny."

I don't think $20 is bad at all. Don't forget, this is mostly for day guests as AP and resort guest are not charged. Once on site the person that pays the $20 is many times using Disney transportation to get around if the decide to hop.

By us, some of the beaches pay $20 a day and then there's always the $50 at Yankee Stadium that makes me twitch.

I agree. I paid $25-30 (can't remember which ) to park at the Metlife Stadium in NJ for a Taylor Swift concert. So that's $300 for my ticket, plus the parking, plus the cost of extras like water or food that is not allowed to be brought into the stadium. I would also expect to pay $20 for parking if I wasn't staying on property anyway.

Any chance that parking fee is figured into the price of that resort room? So you may, in fact, be paying for parking if you have a car on the lot or not.

Oh I'm sure with their over inflated pricing it pretty much is.
Moderates at $140+ [for non AP and FL residents], is ridiculous.
Not to mention the way over priced $300+ resorts.
    NO hotel is worth that.
More often than note we do off property $40-$70 a night hotels and they are just fine! We do quite a few mini weekends away since we are local. And many of those have free breakfast buffets.
