Are there any more details on the Alien Saucers? Is it a clone of another ride or a new ride? We are happy with this news of Toy Story land, especially since we now have a little one. And frankly, we were pretty thrilled to see SlinkyDog get a COASTER! My Dh's username is SlinkyDog and we've always felt he was an underrated character. I know he has a kiddie ride in another park, but am I correct that this is a new ride?

I for one am ecstatic about this. The area looks super cute! While I'm happy that Star Wars Land is going on both coasts (just to balance out the inevitable huge crowds), I'm very happy they aren't just replicating Carsland in Florida. I like having unique resort experiences.

We discussed this last night while recording the podcast, Maryanne. I think we finally decided it sounded a lot like Mater's Junkyard Jamboree in Carsland. Or the teacups. Who knows!

As for Slinky, I think the concept is new, but I could be wrong. I'm not super familiar with what they put in Hong Kong.

Carsland does not belong in Florida (thematically). I'm VERY happy it will stay a DL exclusive.

I wonder if Buzz Lightyear Ranger Spin will move to Toy Story Land. It would kinda fit there and then If You Had Wings could come back.

My husband was also thinking it sounded like the Mater ride. Makes sense.

When we were originally talking about Toy Story Playland, we had said a ride similar to Maters was coming, but it would be Toy Story themed... The original consensus/discussion was Jesse or Woody's Round Up... so I wouldn't doubt if the alien ride was Mater's with a different theme... And I'm glad they went with the alien theme over Woody or Jessie...

Oh and Slinky Dog coaster looks fun... Much more fun than 7D, and longer it appears... As long as things don't start getting cut LOL...

TRICIA JONES: I heard that you were going to propose to Brandi Svenning at some theme park. When are men going to learn that women want ROMANCE, not Mr. Toad's Wild Ride...

BRODIE: Hey, now, be fair. EVERYONE wants Mr. Toad's Wild Ride.

Looking at the artwork at the beginning of this thread, it looks like the saucers ride is a clone of the teacups, which does disappoint me. But I can see the appeal. I'm just glad it's not another Dumbo/Flying Carpet/Astro Orbiter/Triceratops Spin clone, which was my fear.

At first I was disappointed with this. I think that the theming will be fantastic, but the attractions don't do a lot for me. However, as someone else mentioned, Star Wars is getting an E ticket attraction, and with RnRC and ToT still there, along with the GMR, there will be a lot to do in this park for everyone. And that's a good thing.

Looking forward to five years in the future!

Personally I'm not overly enthused or excited about this announcement. I'm not sure a new land that only has 2 new attractions in it is all that thrilling. And the attractions they've announced - just from the brief descriptions - don't really scream out "original, innovative, exciting". We're basically getting a longer, re-themed version of Barnstormer and a re-themed version of Mad Tea Cups by the sound of it. I would love to be proved wrong (and see additional attractions planned before they break ground), but we'll have to wait and see.

When I first heard about this, I was thinking it would be similar to the Toy Story Land they added to Hong Kong Disneyland. From what it seems, I don't know if it will have as many attractions as the Hong Kong version.

I'm so glad they're making these changes! After all I've heard about Radiator Springs, I have to admit that I'm disappointed we won't be getting something similar. But, I fully agree that what DHS has been missing are rides for a wider age range.

We saw Stitch and a couple of characters near Min and Bill’s. Mickey and Baymax had long lines in the animation building. And the Disney Jr characters were outside. That's all.

We did not feel the same about Disneyland and probably will never go there again unless we are in the area for another reason.
Don't give up hope DNS! This is just the first wave. Pixar Place and Cars Land are on the board to be built at DHS (or whatever you want to call it).

The Toy Story Land in Hong Kong Disneyland is super cute, so I'm certain this one will be too. I was hoping that they would bring at least 1 of the HK rides over to WDW, but it doesn't look that way. My husband and I like the Toy Solider Parachute Drop. Even though it is a simple ride, it was themed really well, and you get a good view of the park from the top. The RC Racer is fun too, (and doesn't take up a lot of space), but it is a little too thrilling for my husband, haha.
