    Default Magical Express

I'm sure this has been discussed on here before, but what are everyone's thoughts on using Magical Express to your hotel from the airport? I'm feeling nervous about using it because I never have before, but I know some people that really like it. And you can bring your luggage on the bus with you right, instead of waiting for them to delivering it to your room? We normally use a town car service but we're trying to save a little money this time!

Not sure exactly what you are nervous about. We always use the Magical Express to and from our resort. It is convenient and free...and yes you can handle your luggage yourself and not have it delivered to your room. Just don't put the yellow luggage tags on your bags, pick up your luggage upon arrival at the airport and take it with you to the Magical Express pick up area. The bus driver will stow your luggage in a compartment on the bus and give it to you at the resort. The only negative I can think of might be the fact that it takes a bit longer to get to your resort as the buses stop at several resorts for drop-offs or pick-ups...but for us it's all part of the Disney experience.

We used it before and will use it again in September. Great way to get to WDW without the hassle of driving. We did not carry our luggage on the bus but those who did had no issues at all. This is one less thing for you to worry about. Have a great trip!

I agree with catasaid and wilcat totally. Only negative is it takes longer to get to the resort. So you can save some $ but spend some time.

I use DME every time. I'm not sure why you wouldn't want your bags handled for you, but it's no problem to bring your baggage to the bus.

I typically pack a carry on with my "must have" items - change of clothes, meds, etc. - just in case there is inclement weather and it takes a bit longer to have the bags delivered to my room.

Normal time for bags to arrive in your room: 3 hours after your arrival at the resort.

In any event, it is a great service and you can be at your resort and checked in within an hour of your planes arrival.

Having used both paid for transportation and DME, I would not hesitate to utilize DME if possible. Just take small carry on with things you may want at check in and be on your way. Never had to wait too long for bags to arrive at hotel. After a long flight nothing better than getting on a very comfy Disney themed motor coach and away you go.

Love DME! Traveling with 3 small kids and their gear can be stressful. Letting Disney handle the luggage is a huge load off. I feel like I start my vacation early when I can check my bags in OK and not think about them again.

We've used it the last couple of trips. Works great. Carry on with essentials goes with us on the bus with us.... checked bags "magically" show up at the room.

    Simple.

We are coming up on our 6th trip to Disney and I can say that I have used DME for every trip and I have only had a slight issue one time. That being said I would not hesitate to use it again and will use it for our trip in December! On one trip my suitcase took its own little vacation to the wrong resort but Disney took care of it and got it to our resort a few hours later than the rest of our bags. I ALWAYS pack everything that is important (medications, ID, money etc and a days worth of essential clothing including bathing suits) in our carry on so even if something were to happen we would be good. to me when I park my car at the Pgh Airport to head to Disney it is the last time that I have to drive until we return to that airport. taking DME is part of the experience and the drivers ALWAYS make the trip to the resorts fun. DME is also separated and while you may have to stop at 1, 2 or even 3 resorts before yours, they are always in the same area and I think that's part of the fun! seeing some of the front areas of resorts I'm not staying at! I think skipping the baggage part also makes up for the little extra time it takes at the resorts. There are plenty of DME buses so its not really that much of a loss time wise! Let Disney take you there!

I am going to be on this bus in Sept. and I am so excited they have it. I could imagine the cost of private transportation being quiet expensive.

We've had some delays with luggage, but you can't beat free. I do miss the old videos on the bus.

I should have said new to us. It had been 3 years. It's not the one with the characters. The one on the way back is about how fun the airport is.

We do this too. In our opinion, this is a great perk of staying on property.

We've been using the Magical Express for years without any problems. Actually, I now I can't imagine NOT using it. It's so convenient and we love that we don't have to worry about collecting our bags at the airport.
    Nice work, pal.

While I prefer hiring a company such as Quicksilver to transport us to and from the airport, we have used Magical Express a number of times.

If you're looking to save money, then Magical Express is an easy way to save a few $$.

You can either pick up your luggage yourself, or pack a day bag as carry-on, and let Disney worry about the rest.

Issues are rare, and overall it is a great service!

Don't worry at all with using Magical Express. We always claim our own luggage, tip the driver a few dollars per bag and relax on the ride to and from the resort. We've never had a problem with them !!
