Peter Pan's Flight - Hook's Voice

Does anyone know the reasoning behind Hook's voice sounding nothing like his character in the attraction?

We go 1-2 times per year and this has always baffled my wife and I.
Just curious.

I'm assuming the actor, Hans Conreid, was either unavailable or unwilling to take part. He passed away in 1982. Corey Buron does the voices of Hook and Smee on the ride.

Corey Burton, himself, told me that he doesn't do the voice on the ride and doesn't understand why they have a totally unconnected voice for the character,
