    Default Magic Express and luggage

Good morning! In just 48 short days my feet will hit Disney property and I have a question regarding Magic Express. Our flight lands at 8:30 p.m. - what are your suggestions on luggage? Do you think it would be best for us to just grab our luggage at that time of night? I am sort of leaning that direction, as I do not want to have it delivered at midnight or 1 a.m. TIA!

Do not put the tags on your luggage, Just use M.E. for the free trip to and from WDW. Goto baggage claim and schlep your luggage yourself. We do that regardless of flight time. I just like to be in charge of my luggage. That way, when you check in...you have everything!
I have noticed that many many people don't use the tags...they want to carry their luggage to the bus...then to check in themselves.

Thanks! We normally arrive much earlier, so this has not been a concern for us before.

I too would grab the luggage and put it on the bus. We've only used Magical Express once (we always rent a car) and if I had to do it again, I would control my own luggage. We arrived at the hotel by 10:30 a.m. and our luggage didn't arrive until 4 pm and 8 pm that night (yes two separate times).

I always get my own luggage, no matter when we arrive. I just like knowing I have it and it's gonna be available at the exact time I want it. It's not that big of a deal to grab it and then walk to ME.

The last time that we allowed Magical Express to bring us our luggage, it was lost for almost 10 hours. Unfortunately, my wife had packed some of her medication she needed due to a recent surgery because TSA would not let her carry on the plane. By the time our luggage was delivered, it was well after 1 AM and about 6 hours after she was due to take her pain medicine. I had spent many hours and killed 2 cell phone batteries trying to communicate with MCO luggage services trying to locate it.

The killer part was that I had figured out hours earlier where the luggage was at, but ME kept assuring me it was not there and would not allow me to ride back up to the airport on their bus to locate the luggage. Around 11 PM, I finally convinced a ME rep at the airport to walk down to baggage claim and the bags magically appeared!

We will never allow them to pick up our luggage again. There is just too many bags and too many opportunities for things to go wrong. Much easier to simply go down, grab your bags and then head over to ME.
It is my dream to one day pilot the monorails around the Seven Seas Lagoon....where's my star!!!

We had a similar experience in regards to luggage times. We normally rent a car as well, but even if we did ME, I would get my own bags. One time we got in before lunchtime, our bags (all but one) were in our room by the time we got back from dinner, BUT...the one with my camera equipment was not, and we had a park view room at CR, so I was a little miffed.
