Is 9:30 a good time to eat at O'hana? Wishes is at 10 the night I have a seating. Can you see Wishes from the windows or do you have to be down on the beach. (is the beach even open?)

You need a window seat to get a really good view of Wishes, but you can actually see it from several of the tables in the middle, too, some better than others. I'm not sure of the beach situation currently, but I'm guessing it's not good. I've eaten at 'Ohana at 9:30. We were seated late, more at around 10, but they were not rushing us at all and it was fine if you don't mind eating that late.

One problem we have encountered eating that late is that sometimes they are done with the evening "entertainment" by that time. Our kids were very disappointed to not get to take part in the games (coconut races and such). It was a very quiet meal, not at all what we are used to.

We also happened to be seated pretty far from the widows so we were not able to see any of Wishes. Not all tables have a view of Wishes, so timing isn't going to necessarily afford you a good view of Wishes during your meal.

Other than that, the meal was still great and we were not rushed at all.

No little kids, so no entertainment is fine. Not sure if I want to eat that late but that is the time that was open. I really want to go to Narcossee but no time has been available. We may just go eat at the bar. It is our arrival day so don't have any plans other than seeing Wishes outside the park.

You can only see wishes from 'Ohana if you have a window seat and for me the view isn't that great.

The beach is open and if you are at the west end of the Hawaii building the view is still fine and the music is piped in there. The beach is still fine but with the construction you'll have to follow the signs to find it.

Just a picadilo of mine. The restaurant's name is 'Ohana being Hawaiian not Irish. Sorry, but after all the years I've been going to the Poly I can't help pointing it out. Easy error to make though.

Oh, I recommend eating at the bar at Narcoossee's ! It is one of my favorite restaurants and I believe the full menu is served at the bar. The only time I was ever disappointed was when I ordered pork. Seafood, beef and chicken dishes have always been top notch. If Sergio is working at the bar, tell him "hello" for me!

Another choice which we always forget is The Wave at CR. You could eat there and then go out to the 4th floor viewing area to watch wishes.

Yes, I am thinking the same thing. And the full menu is served at the bar. I love the steak. My husband isn't too thrilled about sitting at the bar- a little too crowded for him.

Thanks forthe fireworks info! Doesn't sound like a good view unless you are lucky.

I was just getting ready to suggest the 4th floor observation deck at Contemporary for Wishes. While it's not the best viewing spot, it is probably better than Ohanas.

Another option, if it's available, is dinner at California Grill. The observation area outside CG is much better than Ohanas and you get a better view from there than on the 4th floor.

I'm with Christine on this, both on dining at the bar and having love for Sergio. Plus, you will be able to time it so that you can see Wishes from the GF dock. You will need to step outside because the view isn't great from inside at the bar area. There is no guarantee that you'll get a good view at 'Ohana if Wishes is the priority.

We did not get to Narcossee's because our flight was cancelled after we got to the airport. We had to cancel our seating since it was too late by the time we made it to WDW. Maybe next trip.......
