No more Photos at Akershus & Cindy's

Just read this concerning 2015 packages:

Magic Your Way Packages with Dining packages – various changes, including the removal of Disney PhotoPass photos at Cinderella's Royal Table and Akershus Royal Banquet Hall Character Breakfast.

This is a bummer. We always try to hit Akershus, and we love getting a photo with Belle. And it's free. I'll admit that I always thought this was a real bonus at this restaurant. If you go to Cinderella's Royal Table, you the picture with Cinderella - BUT it costs two TS credits vs the 1 at Akershus. So eating in Norway I always saw as a really good deal on top of the good food and Princess entertainment. Now, Disney is taking pictures away from both of them - at least for people buying the Dining Plan.

Yes, the quote goes on to say "Disney feels that they've been gouging people at many of their restaurants and want to make amends by slashing the price of their two princess encounter meals in half."

I was wondering. Even looked at the calendar to check it wasn't April Fools.

We have always had bad photographers at Akershus so I won't mind missing that photo op.

If/when they take away the one at 1900 Park Fare in the evening, then I'd be unhappy. Always had good photos from there.

I too wondered if they would decrease the price of the meal if they were doing away with the picture. If they don't, then more than likely we won't be back there. You can't price gauge people. It just drives people away.

So they up the price of PhotoPass to change the name and add attractions/dining photos, then take away the dining photos? Well, that's annoying.

It's their way of raising get prices. Kind of like how a 40 lbs bag of dog food is now only 37.5 lbs. They don't change the prices, then they raise the prices, then you get 10% more ( they raise the price again), rinse repeat..

This is why people say value is going down...

The Disney link I posted and quoted are for the 2015 Magic Your Way Package Plus Dining Packages. Seems some sites are quoting an agency and posting differently. Maybe our friends at MJ will be able to help clear it up.

So dining plan or not, there are no photo's included.

So this may be overkill on the topic, but they say print packages.... As in you will not get the "printed" photos any longer. Will there still be a digital option, for memory maker purchasers that are taken by photo pass photgraphers? Or they are taking the meet and greet out completely at the beginning of these meals? hmmmm, this is a tricky one!

That's what I was wondering. It's possible that they're not printing the pictures anymore, but that you still can have the photo op. And, if you've purchased MM, you'll have the digital version from the PhotoPass photographer.
