Default What to do first day?

We arrive by Autotrain on June 7 about 9:30 AM and can't check in to our offsite hotel until 4:00 PM. We are not going to a park that day as we don't want to rush with a partial day and we have dining reservations for House of Blues at 7:30 PM. Traveling are myself, Dad, 46, DD 21, DS 19 and DS 14.

What do you think is the best option on my poll?

You could possibly go to your hotel, explain you're early and maybe they'll let you leave you're luggage with the service desk and use the hotel pool if there are changing facilities at it. Possibly also go to Downtown Disney and check out which souvenirs you want in the Disney store, although I don't know what you would do with your luggage then.

    Cool Arrival Day

Let me expand on this. After driving 10 hours down from NC, we arrive still by 1:00 - 2:00 p.m. Room is usually ready so we unpack the vehicle completely and head to Resort Pool Deck. If we haven't had lunch, we get our first FREE DINING meal and Refillable Mug, usually out by pool. Time to cool off in the Pool and chill out. Next we're off to the Polynesian Monorail for a ride around the World. We may do some Resort Hopping before catching Electrical Water Pageant and Wishes from the beach. Back to our Resort for ice cream and then finally to bed so we can get a start in the MAGIC KINGDOM for our 1st day in a Park! See you in September!

Sometimes your room will be ready prior to official checkin time; sometimes not. You can always leave your luggage will bell services and then head off to do what you want. Any of the options you noted in your poll are possible.

How well do you guys travel? Are you usually tired at the end of the trip? If so, I would just hang out around the hotel. If not, plan on doing something. Would you be able to spend all day at Downtown Disney and already be there for dinner at House of Blues? Personally, I can't shop for that long. I know my mom can though.

Personally, I would choose a water park. It would be pretty easy to leave if you guys got tired.
I'll meet you at the Rainbow Bridge.
