BLT or VWL

I can't decide between these 2 resorts. We are going for the NoJ so being close to MK is very important to us. We have not stayed at either of these resorts. VWL would save us 10 points but if we stay at BLT we can walk to and from MK which sounds really nice. Please help

Both are excellent choices but very different in style.

As noted, Bay Lake Tower means you can walk to and from the Magic Kingdom which is a major plus. You're also very close to the monorail line which puts the other monorail resorts close enough to hop over for a meal.

We haven't yet stayed at Villas Wilderness Lodge (though we will soon) but have stayed at Wilderness Lodge a number of times. The theming here is very comfortable. It's just a short, and lovely boat ride away from the Magic Kingdom.

It looks like the focus of your trip is Night of Joy. Given that, I would probably opt for Bay Lake Tower.

We like both but favor VWL, it's just more comfortable for us. The rooms are undergoing a total refurbishment and it's expected to be complete by the summer so that would be a plus. I also like the pool area and spa at VWL, this too was recently redone. There is a bus to MK which runs every 10 minutes and is much quicker than the boat and a good way to avoid the crowds.

I agree with Linda's points on BLT as far as the monorail and walking. It's also nice to relax at the TOWL in the evening.

I have not actually stayed at either but have visited rooms at both. VWL seemed much more roomy although I preferred the décor at BLT. However, with the renovation at VWL, I possibly could be swayed more towards those rooms. I do like the advantage of walking to MK which could be a huge plus depending on how long your trip will be and how much time you'll be spending at MK.

First I have to say I love love love Wilderness Lodge and would almost always choose it over Bay Lake Tower. However if your trip is short and MK is primarily where you are going, I would pick BLT because it makes access to MK so so easy.

If the trip is more than a few days I'd pick Wilderness because (for me) that resort is much more appealing. It's beautiful and relaxing.
