Memory Maker/Magic Band Confusion

We are heading to WDW at the end of October and have a one night, room only ressie for the first night. Then we are changing resorts and will have the dining plan, park tickets, and memory maker on this reservation. Now I'm confused and seem to be making myself more confused all the time!

Am I correct that we will get 2 sets of Magic Bands, one for the first night with just the room, and then another that will be for the remainder of the trip and have our park tickets, dining plan, room key on it? If so do we just change to the second set of magic bands when we change resorts or do I need to combine the reservations or something?

I am splurging and trying the Memory Maker. I added it to package when I made the longer reservation so it is with the dining plan and park ticket reservation. Now I am wondering if I should have purchased it seperatly since I have that extra first day? Can we get pictures taken on that first, room only day and add them to the Memory Maker account when we check into the second resort? Can I link the Memory Maker to both Magic Bands?

I think it's a stretch for anyone to give you an accurate answer as to how things will work in 6 months.

You may get answers about how things worked a few months ago, or now, or even a few weeks in the future... but no one can actually predict exactly how it will work in October.

Eventually, you should just get 1 set of MB for a split stay, if they're both connected to your MDE. Right now, people are still getting two sets. But in October? Who knows.

Since you want to be able to use Memory Maker for your entire trip - including your first day, I would suggest calling Disney to ask how you can do this.

I just went on my own MDE account to check something because I have two bands. this is what is says

All your MagicBands and cards can be used interchangeably as long as they’re active

So if Memory Maker shows linked to your account and both bands show active you should be able to use it with either band.
