Last year September room discounts were released to the general public on 5/9 (three days earlier for those with a Disney Visa).

Another tip I recently learned is that you can get the discounts and then stack additional discounts if you book room only through sites such as Orbitz. Just sign up for their emails so that you get the Discount Promo Codes. I saved an extra 15% on top of the 25% Disney discount plus you get bonus bucks to spend on a future room. The only disadvantage is you have to prepay for the whole amount vs one night. Also if you book with any travel company other than direct from Disney you need to call the hotel and get the hotel confirmation number which is often different than the one they give you so that you can add it to MDE. Also when you order your magic bands check the address as they usually have the travel agencies address and phone. You need to change it to yours there and in MDE.
