Default World of Color - FP or dining package

Going the last week of August during the week, so I expect the crowds won't be too busy. Could anyone tell me if it is worth it to look at the World of Color dining package or should I just use a FP? If I don't have either one, can I still see the show?

The WOC dining package gets you to the very middle of the viewing area. No matter where you watch WOC you will be standing. FP is the next sections off of the dining package viewing area. Yes, you can still see the show without both, but your over to the sides.

And I have found that not all dining packages are created equal. Our viewing area when we ate at Carathy Circle was FAR superior to our viewing area when ate at Wine Country Trattoria. At least this was our experience.

I've done the dining package twice--once with the picnic lunch from Wine Country Trattoria and once with a meal at Carthay Circle. Our viewing area after our Carthay Circle meal was immensely superior, but that was because we had a problem with the original package deal and they put us in this special area as compensation. My view with the picnic deal was also very good (in the yellow section). No matter where you end of watching the show from, it's more important to be in line to enter early, as the viewing areas are set up in tiers and you want to be in the very front of your tier to have the best view. I recommend being in line to get into your viewing section at least 30 minutes ahead of time. You will still end up standing around and waiting around for the show once you get in your section, but at least you will be up front.

As far as seeing the show without any kind of Fastpass, dining package or regular, you definitely can try, but you will be standing on level ground behind a bunch of other people, so the view wouldn't be very good, IMO.

I've only ever viewed with the dining package. Once at Wine Country and twice at Carthay. Carthay viewing is indeed better.

I don't like to worry about fast passes and the such. I'm going to dine regardless and both restaurants are great. You can also do lunch. It doesn't have to be dinner.

No matter what you get, unless you get there waaaaay early, you'll be viewing the back of someone's head.
