Marathon Wknd Trip Report 2
D4: Started the day at Animal Kingdom w/ people in my group who had never been there. So exciting to see it through their eyes. We started on the Safari, which was great. The giraffes were adorable, running all around and we got a great view of 3 lions. Usually I only see 1 lounging around. Then immediately knocked out Everest, Primeval Whirl, Dinosaur and the Kali Rapids all before lunchtime. Lunch at Yak & Yeti. A first for me!!! I really enjoy it there. Jeesh, I've been depriving myself, huh? The Sweet n Sour chicken is so great.
After this, we hit the MK again to meet up with more family. More rides and fun. Had a fun little moment of Magic when we got free cookie samples outside the Country Bear Jamboree. The kids in our party loved this. We also had our first ever meeting with PUSH, the trashcan. It was pee-your-pants level of hysterical. Push asked my sister for a kiss and for a dance, to which he blasted Whitney Houston's, "I Will Always Love You". Then he asked me and group all sorts of embarrassing, by hysterical questions. I can't believe I'd never met Push in my past trips! This was a magical moment, indeed.
Dinner at the Whispering Canyon Cafe in the Wilderness Lodge. Delish and super fun! I love the energy and the craziness. "We need ketchup!!!". We ate the family style BBQ. I enjoyed the pulled pork immensely, specifically. Others loved the ribs the most.
D5: Our last day. Sad! Our group seriously dwindled by now, so it was much more low key in this sense. Breakfast at Ohana. YUM. I never sit down for breakfast at Disney, so this was a pleasant treat. Pretty traditional breakfast food, but it tasted better than we make at home. The characters were on the A-game this morning. Stitch and Pluto standing out as the funniest, most interactive w/ the kids in our group.
The rest of day was spent in Epcot where we did all the rides and ate and drank away the remaining dining plan points we had. What a time. It was in Mexico where a seagull landed on my head and stole an empanada out of my hand. I can still feel the talons digging into my scalp. We got a good scare and a good laugh out of this. One other place we got a bite was in Japan. I'd never had their sushi. The tuna roll was great. I'll go there again, for sure!!! And by 4:30, we sadly headed home to POR to get our Magical Express bus.
Great trip all around. Fast paced, 1/2 marathon milestone accomplished, a few "firsts" for even me and lots of good family and friends to enjoy it with.

When Mary Poppins sang "feed the birds" I don't think that's what she had in mind. Yowza!
Sounds like you had a great time in the parks for a few days after the half. How were your legs feeling???

Feed the birds!!! ROFL!!!
We did have fun. I hope you did, too!
My legs - what a racket. Going down stairs and minor ramps or slopes - Not good times. But nothing stopped me. The day after the 1/2, we used a phone app that calculated that we'd walked 9+ miles around the parks before bedtime.
Even now, though, back at home, my hips are super achey. I just **** it up. Advil has been my friend.
