Kandy's Big Adventure at Food & Wine Pre-Trip Report

Ever wonder how a couple of Magical Journeys TAs tour "the world"? Kathy and Wendy (aka Kandy as they have been dubbed by Disney) will be doing a 3 day whirlwind tour of the Epcot Food and Wine Festival next week! Our shenanigans will be documented on Facebook (the Mickey Police will provide mugshots, I am sure) and we are going to do trip reports here! I am sure the words Grand Marnier Slushie will show up at least once or twice!

The plans started with a basic premise....Girls Trip to Food and Wine (aka...no hubbies on this trip). And that is when things started to explode....3 days of fun and games...we should share the experience with our clients and friends! And in typical Kandy fashion, our brains went into overdrive! ( rumor has it that we are not supposed to left alone without a voice of reason...where is Terrisue when needed?)

Within an hour of our brilliant plan, air was booked, resort was picked, DME scheduled, and then....we told our husbands Of course, the fact that the Red Sox have graciously offered entertainment for them while we are gone is not hurting ( World Series..woo hoo!)

Kathy is in charge of the itinerary (because of Wendy's well known "stop and smell the roses" touring style) and Wendy has taken over creative development of some contests and will be keeping everyone up to date on our touring progress!

Kandy "lands" (no pun attended) in WDW next Monday, Oct.28 and we hit the ground running. On the agenda, hitting as many F&W kiosks as we can ( we promise to sample beverages for all lol) and lots of shopping until we are forced back on the DME bus at o'dark hundred on Oct.31! (We will be the women quietly weeping on the way back to MCO).

For anyone at "the world" on Tuesday, Oct.29, we will be at the American Adventure Pavilion in Epcot between 2pm-3pm for a quick Meet & Greet! We will be in the Black Super Agents shirts with the Green Mickey Heads! We would love to meet you!

We are going to be posting a quick trip update each day here (probably very late at night...so beware!) and updating our Facebook pages throughout the day! Our contests will be posted on Facebook. Wendy even finally gave up her precious blackberry for a phone made in this decade so she can post on the go! (not that she knows how to use it yet)

When we get home....watch for a full trip report! And, if the Mickey police throw us in the pokey, we will negotiate for some internet time in exchange for good behavior!

And…for the record (our story and we are sticking to it)…this in the interest of travel research!

I was there two weeks ago and my favorite food was the mahi with singa sauce at the singapore kiosk. Make sure to give it a try between slushies.

If anyone here remembers the show Friends and the Thanksgiving episode with Joey and the "eating pants"....I think Kathy and I will be packing our "eating capris" lol!

Good thing we will be walking and walking and walking lol!

We can't tell you what we might or might not be eating lol...it might just be one of the contests! But keep the suggestions coming!

As the "designated journalist" for the trip, be forewarned...my posting times as listed in the Itinerary by the Chief Planning Officer (Kathy) of this adventure are all in the wee late or early morning hours!

Hence...grammer, spelling, and even basic English may be at risk! Compound my system adapting to '"commando touring" (an concept unfathomable in normal "wendy" world"), time zone changes, and the odd adult beverage or two....our onsite posts may be quite entertaining!

I promise an in depth report when we return home and I am back in my normal time zone comfortably ensconced at my desk!

And for those wondering...we have Magic Bands. They are sitting on my desk right now! Green for me and Orange for the Itinerary Queen! Our adventures with them will be recorded as well. (operator error...well, that may not be discussed lol)

Our first contest for this adventure has concluded over on Facebook!

Thanks to everyone who participated in : What Color Magic Bands did we pick? You helped us work out the potential bugs for the BIG contests we are running next week! I am really excited about the Tuesday contest!

We have the itinerary completely nailed down (can't spill the beans yet)...Kathy is packed and I am working on it! This weekend will be getting our husbands and critters organized and then we head to the airport at O Dark Early on Monday...Kathy heads out at 4:45 am est and I head out at 3:15 am MT time!

Fun and Games shall commence around 4pm according to the Master Itinerary (provided Southwest does it's job and gets me there on time)

First onsite trip report will be Tuesday Morning...and our first contest will be starting Monday afternoon on Facebook!

Off to pack...Kathy scheduled it on the itinerary as Friday afternoon!
