we are two twin sisters who grew up in Northern Ireland but now live in Scotland
Given our experience with Animal Kingdom buses we knew we wouldn’t have to wait long for a bus and sure enough we were on our way quickly. Arrived just as it opened and we headed to the safari straight away. As always this was very cool. We saw Giraffes, hippos, elephants, zebras and lots more. Highlight was actually getting to see the lions, in all the years we have been visiting we have never seen a lion on this trip but this time they were out and I got a great shot of the lion standing proud on top of the rock. After that we were off to Expedition Everest which we rode a few times and screamed our heads off. We grabbed a ham, egg and cheese flatbread for breakfast (yum) then headed for Kali river rapids. First time out and we got completely soaked, decided we were two wet to ride again and headed towards dinosaur. We rode once but before we could get out of our rover we were asked if we wanted to ride again on a new one as ours hadn’t been working correctly – I hadn’t actually noticed. We all agreed and went round for a second time. You could really tell the difference and it was a lot more fun. We also saw it’s tough to be a bug and went to festival of the lion king which was very good(we were in the lion section). Then there was more Expedition Everest and some shopping. I got an adorable tigger is that you t shirt for my 2 year old niece. During all of this we did make time for lunch at the Flame Tree BBQ. We always have the pork sandwich and I usually love it but this year it just didn’t taste as good, it wasn’t bad just not as I remembered it. The sauce seemed a lot sweeter than usual. The onion rings were excellent as usual though and that made up for it. We left the park around 3pm. First we headed back to the hotel to change as we were still a little damp from kali river rapids and then we headed to EPCOT for the evening. We did go the long way round though – boat to Magic Kingdom and then the monorail to EPCOT. Jeniflower loves to ride the monorail. We had another nice evening in EPCOT and we caught a performance by Off Kilter. They even sang a song we hadn’t heard before which was great, alas there were no new CD’s to buy. I do enjoy their performances a lot. After a nice evening we headed back to the Wilderness Lodge.
