Not Quite Photopass + Option
Hi All,
I was just getting ready to pre-order the regular photopass, when I read on another site that Disney has an option where you can do the photopass CD with ride photos as well, but not all the character meals, and it's about $49 more, or something like that. I honestly didn't look to closely at the photopass + since I knew we weren't going to be doing hardly any character meals, but I would love to have the ride pics too. Has anyone heard anything/much about this option?
Thanks!
Kristina

Yeah, that option is Disney Attractions+. It's $44.95 by itself or added onto the regular Photopass CD option. I haven't found a pre-order discount for it. With that price, it's better to either pre-order the full Photopass+ or just do the Attractions+ without the CD.

The way I "justified" the additional cost for PP+ is how many rides are you planning to ride that take pics? IF you ride JUST 3 or more this option pays for itself as to add a picture to your regular photo pass from a ride like Space Mountain, Tower of Terror or Test Track will cost you $14.95. Not to mention character meals. We more than offset this additional cost last May. We pre-purchased our Photopass and upon check in at the resort went to the PP Kiosk and added the + feature. This is especially nice option if you create the photo album after your trip.

I got a pre-trip offer that gave me PP+ for $149. It gave me a CD of stock Disney photos and a voucher for me to take & turn in for a PP+ card. It also covers getting the CD after our trip. Let me look again and see how I got the info...I think it was via an email from Disney. Only "catch" is that you have to buy it at least 2 weeks out to allow time for your PP+ voucher to arrive.

I would say we are definitely planning on doing more than 3 rides that have pictures, since this will by my brothers first trip since he was a kid, and back then he wasn't a fan of those types of rides.
I think I may have missed my window though on being able to pre-order the photopass + though since I read it needs to be done at least 14 days prior to the trip since they send you a card for this (is that true)? We leave next Saturday.
I know we'll definitely want the CD since this will be DS first trip, and my parents and brother are going along with us, so this will be the first time we've all been together at the parks since 2000, so we'll probably have a lot of pics.
Davy Crockett, what did you have to show them for proof of the pre-purchased photopass when you added the "+" option at the resort?
Thanks for all the great feedback!
Kristina

Yes, that's true. You have to preorder it more than 14 days in advance to get the preorder price. You can still do it, but it would be full price. You can still preorder the regular Photopass CD.

Can you do the attractions add on (attractions +) at the resort? I've been searching the photopass website and I finally found a bit of info on it, but it didn't say how/when you purchase this option.
Thanks so much!

Yep. Just go to the Photopass kiosk at the resort or parks and you can add it on there.

Are you able to get multiple photo pass cards. We have a large family trip coming up and we may not be together all the time.

You can get multiple photopass cards and just enter them into one account online later. That's not a problem. You can only get 1 Photopass+ card, though if you're interested in that.

Absolutely. The only thing you would need the + card for is dining and ride photos.

Perfect, thanks so much for the info! I really wish they made it easier to find that info out (unless I'm totally missing where it's posted, which is completely possible lol )

Figment104 - I had our PP Card as we preordered months ahead, BUT I always take a picture of the PP preorder receipt / confirmation # as well a print out of the document which I keep in our vacation travel binder. I took the payment receipt to a PP kiosk and paid the up charge. After that as Strmchsr stated you can have a dozen PP+ cards issued to you if you want and once you get home just enter each of those numbers into your PP account and voila all your pictures magically appear.
IF you haven't done this already go to the PP site or the main Disney site, sometimes you'll have to data mine for a while but eventually you find Park specific maps that will show you "SPECIAL" PP locations where elements can be added to pictures that cast members take like Tinkerbell, Stitch, balloons, and many other things.
PM me if you can't locate them - I have the list.
