Does the first boat to MK still leave 30 minutes before the park opens?

Yep. The MK watercraft begin operations 30 minutes prior to park opening (including Extra Magic mornings). They operate until 1.5 hours after park close.

First time at campground this October. Reserved Chef Mickey, does boat stop at Contemporary in route?

There is (or at least was) a boat that goes to the Contemporary though it is a separate boat from the one that goes to the Magic Kingdom - they usually use the smaller boats for this purpose.

Worst case scenario - you can take the boat to the Magic Kingdom and either walk or monorail from there.

When you get to the boat dock, stay to the line on the right side (there are two lines). This one runs to the resorts while the one on the left goes directly to MK. There are signs directing you when you get there. Have fun!
