Restaurants on WDW website?
I'm poking around the WDW dining site and it seems that there are a lot of restaurants that just aren't there. For instance, when I limit by EPCOT, it gives me just 11 places, no Akershus, China, Japan, Mexico, France, Morocco, Italy, etc. The only table services it is listing are Rose & Crown and LeCellier.
I'm under the All Dining option, not even attempting to make reservations but just explore the menus and stuff.
When I pull up the info on my phone, all the restaurants are there.

They all show up for me, but you could inadvertently have it filtering to just show you what's available currently.

No filters set and I even signed out of my account. It's giving me 190 total, but none of the Epcot ones I mentioned. Entering the names in the search bars doesn't bring them up. I even tried loading the page in Safari as opposed to Chrome, but that's not doing anything either.
Great, my computer's in the Twilight Zone.

I just went and checked it out again. It automatically sets as a search for today's date, next meal (lunch) and filters accordingly. I had to change the date to explore other options or they wouldn't show up. So, not just you, but apparently how it works. This is the same on my phone, unless I'm already searching within a specific theme park and then it lists all the dining in the park.

Well, I'm not happy that you're having problems, too, but I AM happy that it's not all in my head.

I had something similar the other day but the only TS it was showing under All Dining was Victoria and Alberts lol. I went back a few hours later and they were all there again. I get a lot of page not found when trying to pull up individual restaurants too, just try again later (or call).

I will try again today. Like I said, I was really just looking to explore and I find it hard to believe that there's only 2 restaurants available in Epcot AT ALL on the days I'm looking at and even searching for the names wouldn't return any results.

Can we all dream that the listings they are giving online for available time slots are also under reporting? I realize that I haven't been since DDP usage has really blown up and gone mainstream, but I find it hard to believe that two months out there are nights with NO openings AT ALL during dinner for some restaurants.
Maybe I should try calling rather than relying on the online system?

Depends on the restaurants, maybe? Some book up six months out. But not most. So if it looks like you're missing some, probably best to just call.

Kinda related, but not really, do restaurants hold any time open for walk-ups?

Some do have tables for walk-ups. I don't think they put any aside specifically for that. If they can fill a seat with an ADR, they will do it. But many, probably most, have some room to seat walk-ups depending on time of year. There are some very popular places that book up and make walk-ups next to impossible, like 'Ohana and maybe the new Be Our Guest and a few other harder-to-book places. Also, the busiest, most crowded times and free dining times are less successful times to attempt a walk-up. Your best bets are usually to eat early, just at opening, or late. The prime meal times are hardest for walk-ups. (8-10 am for breakfast, 12-2 pm for lunch, 6-8 pm for dinner).

That's what kind of bothers me--for all of us that know better, we would just pick up the phone and call if things don't look right on the website. But what about the newbie who sees eleven places to eat in Epcot and thinks that's all there is, and there's no availability at the TWO sit-downs?
