Mickey Gras and a Birthday Day 3
Today was Collin's 13th Birthday. We started the day with a few small gifts from us, his younger brother Landon, and a gift his grandma had sent with us. Then we were off to Epcot, his favorite park!
DH ran for FP for Soarin while we headed for Test Track. We really enjoyed the new queue for TT. It was much better than the old one. The kids LOVED designing their own cars. The ride was still a lot of fun, different but just as fun in our opinion.
We ran into the rest of the family when we were exiting TT and all decided to head to WS. We did our usual "snacking and drinking around the world" for lunch. In Mexico we had nachos and churros with a frozen margarita. We made our way from Mexico to Germany stopping for a ride and shopping in Norway, fried rice egg rolls, and plum wine in China, then caramels, beer and pretzels in Germany. Landon bought a passport as we entered WS so he was busy getting his passport stamped along the way.
After Germany it was time for our Soarin FP so we took the friendship boat across and enjoyed our flight over California. We shopped in Mouse Gear, watched my favorite water fountain in the whole world, and had some samples in Club Cool before making our way to Canada to finish up our world tour.
We didn't do much in Canada, but stopped to let the boys play with the phone booths in the UK. We have all 3 phone numbers to the booths in our phone and the boys love calling them and talking to whoever answers. One family was looking on top of buildings trying to figure out who was watching to know what they were wearing. I think Collin would have stayed there all day had we let him. He's such a prankster that is right up his ally!
We had a few beers in the pub in the UK, listened to the band around the corner then off to France. We ran into the rest of the family again and had pastires in the bakery in France with them. DH and Landon got falafels (sp?) in Morocco, a frozen beer (forget what its called) in Japan, and a funnel cake in USA. We just took pics and looked around in Italy. We always love our tour around the world in Epcot, looking, shopping, relaxing, eating and drinking! We met up with the rest of the family again in Germany and checked in for our dinner at Beirgarten.
It was our first time eating here and Collin had picked it for his birthday. We really, really enjoyed it. There was a lot to choose from and most everything was really good. We also enjoyed the muscial entertainment. This was Collin's actual birthday and the only meal of the trip where he didn't get a cupcake or even a "Happy Birthday". But he still enjoyed the meal and his day in Epcot.
After dinner we just kind of walked around, roaming freely I guess. We decided not to stay for Illuminations and headed for the front of the park. The kids wanted to ride TT again on the way out so the men took them while us ladies found a bench to rest our feet. My toe was really killing me so any rest was very welcomed!
After TT the rest of the family decided to call it a night. We watched the fountain for a bit, let the kids run on the light up cement (something we all remember fondly from the trips when they were just babies), then took a ride on Spaceship Earth before heading out. We were at the bus stop just as the fireworks for Illuminations were going off. We had a nice bus ride back making friends with another family from Louisiana with two boys around the same ages as ours. They were from New Orleans and do Disney about every three Mardi Gras'. Very nice family!
Back at WL we were home early enough to enjoy our living room, as well as the rockers just outside our door. Landon got his fill of Disney cartoons, and Duffy's bedtime stories, and I think DH might have even got some work done on his laptop that night. It was very nice to have a somewhat early night to enjoy the lodge a bit.

So glad you had a good time at Biergarten and that Collin liked his choice, even without cupcakes. Biergarten is one of our favorites, too, especially the beer flight.
Epcot - and all the different little things at each country - is our all time favorite park.
And before I forget - I like the "Mickey" Gras. Thanks again for a great report.

Oh totally forgot, DH did get the beer flight. He brews his own beer at home so he really enjoys beer flights and Biergarten did not disappoint!

Yeah, at the Biergarten (which is one of our absolute favorites) if you have something to celebrate you have to raise your hand or yell it out during the show when the band asks if you have anything to celebrate. It was like that at the Hoop Dee Doo also.
Thanks again for reporting!

Great day at Epcot. World Showcase is one of the reasons we love staying at the Dolphin. We love to just walk over and eat. You reminded me of our kids playing with the lights in the sidewalk. Nothing like watching a baby try to grab the lights and they disappear, then the baby looks in their hands trying to see if they "caught" it.
My first home is in Coastal Georgia, 30 feet from the saltwater marsh, and 3.5 hours from WDW!My second home is the Walt Disney World Dolphin Resort!CR,Poly,GF,BC,BW,WL,AKL,Dolphin,Swan,DL,CSR,POFQ,C BR,POP,AS,Vero.
