Woo hoo
Everyone is doing so well. I wanted to share. I did a 7K run yesterday.
I'm really regretting only signing up for the 5K but I'll be cheering the rest of you on in my runICOT shirt!
Its bragging time! 60 lbs people. 7 pants sizes! I started the kickboxing program and now I'm there 5 days a week. The stress relief is unbelievable.
These places are everywhere and I recommend them highly. It just so happens they are running a web special right now (and I get referrals). Try them out. Mention my name! ilovekickboxing.com

75 Days
I'm so excited. Just 75 days until we hit the World. I'm very comfortable with the 5K now and know I can do it. I plan on hitting every character though! I wonder if we'll run into issues with the Grim Sweepers with the 10K on the heels of the 5K. Does anyone have information on the process for that?

I am not sure what you mean. The 5K is going to run on Thursday and the 10K will be on Friday unless you know something that I don't. Are they running two 5K's? I remember hearing discussion on that early on, but I wasn't sure they pulled the trigger on it.
So basically, there should be no conflict.
I am going right now to the runDisney website to check it out....

On the runDisney website, they are showing the schedule as:
5K - 6:15a, Thursday, 01/09/14
10K - 5:30a, Friday, 01/10/14
Half Marathon- 5:30a, Saturday, 01/11/14
Marathon - 5:30a, Sunday, 01/12/14
So, there should be no conflict with the 5K and the 10K.

You may have possibly read about the 5K and 10K being on the same morning at Disneyland?

Just checking in before the Wine and Dine Half in about a week (yicks!). My sisters and I did our last long training run on Sunday and got 13.1 miles in 2:53! We did the Disneyland Half in 3:09 and I was really hoping that we'd be able to get in under 3 hours for the next half and it looks like we'll be able to. Now I'm just getting my list together of everything to bring on the trip. We leave in seven days!!!!

Have a fantastic time. Rumor is, they have 30 characters on the course this year. I would never get PR at a Disney race. Too many people to stop and take pictures with. I'll cross my fingers for a nice run for you!

Wow! Good for you! At this point, with all the issues I've been having, I'm just hoping to finish. Best of luck to all the runners! Not long now.

Setbacks but pushing through
Had a cortisone shot in my knee the other day and now I have to go to physical therapy for my back. I have rested for a few days and today did my walk with 5 runs mixed in. Only 2.11 miles but I feel good.
Question I have, is the 5k on flat ground or are there any hills, inclines, etc??
I am very determined to not make a complete fool of myself.

Sorry about needing the shot. Sounds painful.
I don't remember any hills at all for the 5K except the bridge by France. We started in the EPCOT parking lot and ran around to the backstage area behind Test Track. From there we entered into World Showcase near Mexico and then around to backstage area near UK. Entered again on the other side of UK (I got a nice shot of Gary's Column!) Then around Spaceship Earth and exited by Guest Relations to finish in the parking lot.
I hope this helps!

I just wanted to say keep up the great training all!
I'm heading to WDW on Thursday for the Wine & Dine and I can't believe in a week from now I will be back on a plane heading home. This is a very short trip (I couldn't get time off from work) but I'm excited to do this race for the first time. I'm in the second coral from the end. So many corals this time but it should spread out the runners quite nicely.
Great race to all running next week!

Thanks. great info.
Knee pain is almost gone but now I have another problem. Yesterday during my walk, I mixed in 5 runs and I must have strained my calf muscle. I HAVE NO LUCK. lol
Well no I'm gonna R.I.C.E. hopefully that helps.

Hang in there Justin. You are doing great. Just take it easy. I have to keep reminding myself that finishing is the one important thing and not to over do it.

I'm always the right calf. I think I favor it. Or my run gait is not even. Do you have the same?

Justin, hang in there. I've been nursing my calf the past few months too, and it's definitely a bothersome injury. Ice it and get some compression socks. They help!!!!

I'm not sure what caused it. I still haven't gotten my gait checked

I've been trying the RICE method but can't really dedicate the time. I will look into the compression socks. Would an ace bandage wrapped around work?
