Day 9 Magic Kingdom (11/6)
The Grand Opening… Actually the plan was to stay away from anything having to do with the opening and yet be in the park as it is our last full day and we always go to MK on our last full day. It was crowded getting in but not terrible. Alex had been wanting to meet Rapunzel, so we grabbed a fast past for later for the princesses and also got a magic fast pass for Dumbo. We needed coffee and I knew they had iced coffee by the tea cups so that is where we headed past the HUGE crowds. There were actually empty teacups running… And then we did the Dumbo ride… as we headed back to see Rapunzel , we could see some of the opening and hear Jordan Sparks singing. It was neat. Fast passing to see the princesses was GREAT! Josh was hysterical with them. For Aurora he started doing this dance… which was sort of a dance, sort of looked like he had to go to the bathroom, and part karate moves. He continued this for Cinderella and she just kneeled there and watched him. It was too funny. For lunch we went back to Columbia Harbor House. We conquered Splash and big Thunder again, and got Shaun over to Space Mountain (Sammy didn’t want to go on, and I didn’t care to either) I took the kids on the People Mover and Buzz while he did that) We shared some more dole whips, and hit up Pirates, the Jungle Cruise, Aladdins Carpets, and then the Laugh Floor. (I have no idea what order) Our dinner was set for Crystal Palace with Pooh Tigger, Piglet and Eeyore. By the time we get out, the Christmas Party has started and it is snowing on Main Street. I was hoping I would be able to go into the Emporium to get a sweatshirt… but no luck. Without a wrist band, I wasn’t getting anything. Gotta tell you, I am a little annoyed at this point with the number of “Special parties” that close up the parks early this week. I mean COME ON…. I am paying to stay here, Give the parties once maybe twice a week… This is crazy! Whatever… it’s the end of a long and really good vacation, I don’t feel like complaining… much…
We get home and Shaun takes the kids to the arcade so I can do most of the packing. Once they are back , we get them into bed and asleep. We set a wake up call for tomorrow, so we can finish up and spend time at Epcot before leaving.

I think I would have been afraid to attempt the Magic Kingdom on the new Fantasyland opening day but you certainly did quite well in the park on that day.

Sorry your trip is coming to and end - last full days are always a bit bittersweet!!
