    Default Planning for 2013

As you can tell from my signature I'm getting the bug again. I'm pricing and planning a trip for me and a friend. While I'm no stranger to the planning process, I am a little unsure of when to start looking for flights. Normally we choose delta. But because of some new flight logistics with Delta they dont seem to offer a non stop flight from Bradley(BDL) to Orlando (MCO). So is there a airline that you would recommend and when do i start to look to find the best deal...

I would check out Southwest or Jet Blue.
With Southwest, you can book a flight and then rebook if you see a cheaper price and get a credit for a future flight.
Jet Blue has seats with extra leg-room (for a price) and every headrest has a television. You can bring your own headphones and it really helps the flight go by a lot faster.

I rarely fly Delta at this point. They seem to move their flights around a lot. Most recently, I've been flying JetBlue most of the time. They've come in less expensive than Southwest and I like having an assigned seat. If Southwest pricing is better, you might also consider them as well.

I start looking at flights and prices as soon as I know my dates. Southwest and JetBlue release their travel dates in blocks and only for limited periods of time so there is a limit as to how far in advance you can look at either of these airlines.

I just booked Southwest last night from Bradley to MCO for April/May. Not the best price, but they are non-stop flights and I can rebook if the fare drops. They are the way to go from Bradley.

Agreed that if you're flying from Bradley, go Southwest. Not only for decent fares, but they offer many direct flights to choose from at different times of day and good service.

I just booked Southwest from Bradley to MCO for May, two people non stop round trip for around $400. I thought that was pretty reasonable given the prices of airfare these days. I suppose it also depends on days of the week and times. We are leaving early morning on a Wednesday morning and returning late evening on a Wednesday night.
