Default SBETigg Live: ICOT 15 My Day Three (and a half)

Sherri, 44, Solo Traveler, Intrepid Reporter

MK Day! What a time we had! I got started late because I was working in my room, but people (Amy Mousefever and Kathy Tikigoddess) who got to MK at 8 reported no crowds, walk-on everything. I finally got there in time for a ride on POTC (mermaids!) before the Magical Journeys meet.

I got to meet everyone from MJ, and they are all wonderful people. Dedicated. Caring. Denise, my agent, was so excited that she got her people great rooms at Pop (I'm so close to the main building). And I'm so glad I finally got to meet Denise, and her husband. And everyone (not naming names because I will forget someone). I'm pleased to do business with this fine crew. But their trivia games are HARD. I didn't know half the answers.

Lunch at Cosmic Rays, said hi to Sonny Eclipse. Then rides, not big lines early in the day but the crowds got a little heavier as the day went on. I headed over to the GF early for my 4 pm tea and shopped and sat and listened to the piano. I love that lobby, my happiest of happy places, like being home. It's never too stuffy for me to feel relaxed.

Tea at the GF was awesome! I had the Grand Tea with my Shanghai Rose tea selection, and it was delicious. It comes with sparkling wine, tea sandwiches, scone and tart, and dessert. So filling!

After tea, it was Halloween Party time. Our Small World meet was tremendous fun. There were so many of us. Our boat must have been the troublemaking boat, and it's a good thing we didn't have little ones aboard because we got a little salty. I think I might be personally responsible for changing the way some of us see Small World for eternity. Fun times.

The best part of the night: new Fantasyland! It was open. We rode the Little Mermaid ride and I can tell you they did a great job on it. The queue is so fun, detailed, amazing. We headed over to Gaston's tavern and had some LeFou's Brew (not as cloying sweet as I'd feared, actually pretty tasty). And then we got to tour Be Our Guest and oh my goodness! I did not think I cared much about eating there but I was so wrong. Now it's at the top of my Must-Try list. It's so gorgeous, very fairy tale worthy. Pictures don't do it justice. You have to be there to watch the snow fall. Spectacular!

This morning, we had our Living Seas breakfast and I got to meet more of us-- but I'm still missing some. If anyone here now is checking in, I will be wearing a blue and yellow sweatshirt tonight in World Showcase, and now we have our nametags, so I hope we find each other.

And I'm concerned about getting home. But, I haven't been that proactive about it.

Lynn, me too! I've been very impressed by my fellow ICOTees. Wonderful people. I want to meet you all in person. So glad I made it here. Start planning for the 20th now.

My thanks to John and all the moderators for working so hard on this and putting together some amazing events.

Sherri - thanks for the reports, from a solo traveler point of view. I can't imagine doing the same thing myself, tho my sister would relish a solo trip .

I'm sure it's a real hoot putting names to faces, etc. How will everyone wait til 20?

Regarding your trip home - no changing what the weather will do, so might as well put that out of mind until it's time to have to deal with it.

    In the meantime, enjoy!

    Cool

Thanks for the reports Sherri. It's the next best thing for those of us who, unfortunately, couldn't be there. Glad that everyone is having a great time. Sounds like a lot of fun.

Denise, yes! I know many of you so much better now. So fun!

And now I can't get home. Will be staying in FL a few more days, but not at Disney. Moving to a Marriott where I can stay with travel points. I miss my family, but at least I will have power here (and I hope they don't lose it long either). Mostly, I am praying that everyone in Sandy's path stays safe and well.

The weather was a major topic of conversation this last weekend! I know a number of Intercotees ended up staying longer than they initially planned. Hope you were finally able to make it hope ant that the trip was uneventful.

The Magical Journeys meet was lots of fun!! So great to meet all the wonderful folks there! It's clear that NICE is at the top of the attribute list when someone joins Magical Journeys!!
