Booking a week question.

I know this is probably an easy one. If you book the weekly rate and the week you are going happens to be rate change week (i.e. Dream season to Magic season), do you get the prevailing rate at check in, do you have to split the stay? Not sure how to estimate my point cost....

You will be charged the higher points for the days that the season switches. If you add the weekly points they are just the total of five nights and two weekend night...weekly rate is no different than the daily rate added together...use the pont calculator on DVC line to check what the number of points are required.

I did a calculation for you using the DVC Points Calculator on the DVC Member site. Here is what I found:

Assumptions:
RESORT = Boardwalk Villas
Check in = 12/12 (Adventure Season)
Check out = 12/19 (Choice Season)
Total stay = 7 nights
Lodging Selection = One Bedroom - Standard View
Total points = 161

Length of Stay Breakdown:
Night 1 - 12/12 Wed - Adventure = 20 pts
Night 2 - 12/13 Thur - Adventure = 20 pts
Night 3 - 12/14 Fri - Adventure = 27 pts
Night 4 - 12/15 Sat - Choice = 28 pts
Night 5 - 12/16 Sun - Choice = 22 pts
Night 6 - 12/17 Mon - Choice = 22 pts
Night 7 - 12/18 Tue - Choice = 22 pts
Check out - 12/19 Wed

Per the Vacation Club Points Chart a weekly stay within:
[*]the Adventure Season for the same room selection would be 154 points
[*]the Choice Season for the same room selection would be 166 points

You do not have to check out and then back in; it is all in the same reservation.

When you make your reservation, the Cast Member and/or online Res System will calculate the amount of points needed for the dates selected.
