Default 40% discount only for Deluxe?

When Disney usually releases a 40% off room discount, is it usually only for the Deluxe resorts or can you use it towards a moderate also?

When they release discounts, they will identify what percentage they are offering in each category and/or resort. For example, see this latest offer.

All depends on which rooms they need to fill.

It's pretty safe to assume that the values get filled up much easier than the mods and deluxes. This is probably why you often see larger discount percentages the more expensive the rooms. This doesn't always have to be this way. You'll also see a lot one resorts don't have discounted rooms at all, because they are popular.

I always say... If you want a discount, don't book until something you are happy paying comes along. By booking first and hoping for a discount, you are 100% for sure making it less likely they will offer a discount. How much depends on how many people do the same thing.

What about the PIN codes they mail you or the deals they email us for Disney Visa? Has anyone gotten the 40% that they could use toward any resort of their choice?

I haven't seen 40% off since fall of last year but even then it was a sliding scale depending on resort level. If I remember correctly the 40% was for deluxe and villa accommodations only. I'm not sure if it was a general public offer or an AP offer that we booked.

I got a pin code a few years ago. It specified 40% for a Deluxe, 30% for a Moderate adn 20% for a value. I think they are always scaled in some way.
