    Default Crowds - Late August

Does anybody have an educated guess as to how the crowd levels will be in late August, starting about August 20?

Also, if one stays in a Universal hotel, how many from-of-the-line tickets can one get per room?

    Thanks!

I don't know how the crowds will be, but staying at a Universal Resort, you automatically get the Express Pass with unlimited uses. So you can use the express line as many times as you want. One of the best perks of staying onsite at Universal!

I know. That's why I asked about crowds. I'm trying to figure out whether it's worth it to stay onsite to get that benefit. If the crowds will be low, front of the line privilege is greatly diminished, therefore we would just as soon stay somewhere else.

for what its worth, my wife and I went to US and IOA last year. we went aug 25-31. we did US one day and IOA the next (no park to park), granted with no kids, but were able to leave each park by 4 and did everything (minus the kiddie stuff) without an express pass. I would say the crowds were smaller than at disney parks during the same week. we walked on everything except for jaws, and forbidden journey, which both had 40 min waits. again, no kids, but based on our observations crowds were lower than at the disney parks during the same time, hope this helps

We typically travel to WDW the last week in August specifically to avoid the crowds. (FL kids are back in school) On our last two visits we spent a day each in US and IOA and then used the third day to visit both and ride our favorite attractions again.

Thanks, guys, kind of what I thought. Probably not worth spending the extra money to stay in a Universal hotel at that time.

They key will be to get to Universal for opening. Universal guests (esp. those staying on-site) seem to descend upon the park between 11am and 12:30pm. You can get through most of IoA from 9am - 12pm if you play it smart.

Getting to the park at opening makes SUCH a difference at Universal!

    We're heading down tomorrow!

We're doing a block of Universal days from the 12to the 16th with our 4 day passes. We had to throw a Disney day in the middle because they made us move our character breakfast to Thursday. I rented a car giving us more flexibility and since 5-6 people using a shuttle service can get $$.
