Food Network Star- Whose team are you on?

Anyone out there watching Food Network Star?

I had been getting bored of it last season, but I am really liking the new format with the teams coached by Alton, Bobby, and Giada. I like that the cooking seems to be a a higher level this year too.

I am Team Alton all the way because I have loved Alton Brown since Good Eats. Though I am not which contestant I like the most overall. I just like Alton.

Who does everyone else like?

Can't say I'm a faithful viewer, but when I have watched I've been pulling for Team Alton (for the same reason as AgentC - I'm a big Alton Brown fan).

I like Ippy on Team Giada, but I assume he is doomed to fail since they mention every episode he is too laid back. I don't really care for anyone on Team Bobby

I'm enjoying it too, I like Justin on team Alton, he's just interesting to me. I am an episode behind though...(at least, actually maybe 2 now.)

Ditto! I've only seen a few shows and that was when I was sick and had all day to watch tv. Seems like the only thing on in the evenings is Diners, Driver-Ins and Dives...not my favorite.

I like Justin too. He is very unique and always seems to make things that should be bizarre but the judges always enjoy it

I do not tend to be a big Food Network watcher during the week. I agree Diner, Drive-ins and Dives seem to be on all the time. I used to like it but now it just makes me hungry.

Team Alton all the way. I love Alton Brown. Bobby seems too full of himself and Giada seems stuck up. But I've always loved Alton. Justin is my favorite, but I'm ready for Martita to go. She annoys me to no end.

I like the way Alton works with his team. It appears that Justin may win the whole thing. I like Ippy (Giada's team) and wish they would quit telling him he's too laid back. That's part of his POV/image. That's who he is. What happened to Emily this last time? Why couldn't she share personal experiences and relate how that put her on her retro path? She took a very sudden turn for the worse and I was bummed to see couldn't pull out of it.

I'm pretty behind on this season, only on episode 4, but I don't have a favorite contestant yet. That being said, I am obsessed with Bobby Flay so for that reason alone I kind of root for his team. Giada is second. I'm surprised to see all the love for Alton! To be honest... I just don't get his appeal. I grant that he is such an expert on so many things, but personally I just don't like that know-it-all persona. Looks like I'm in the minority on that!

We are so in sync on Alton, Bobby and Giada. Though Bobby has grown on me. I really like him on Throwdown. And yes on Martita. How many times can she say, "And my mind just went blank?"

Totally agree on Ippy. What is the point of a laid back Hawaiian if he is not laid back. I missed part of the last episode (Thanks TS Debby ) so I am not sure what happened to Emily. She certainly crashed and burned.

I'm not sure about everyone else but I am an Alton fan from his Good Eats days. If I just knew him from Iron Chef, I might think he was too know it all too.

For me Good Eats was a very cool show because it was entertaining, more than just cooking and I always learned something.

My favorite episode was a Thanksgiving episode. There was a 1/2 in of snow in Atlanta so the crew is stuck at Alton's house after filming the Thanksgiving episode. Alton has to figure out how to keep feeding everyone with leftovers. Very funny.

I'm with you on this one Maryanne! I used to watch Good Eats and after a while I got to the point that just I didn't find him as funny as, I feel, he thinks he is.

At this point I don't feel that there is one of these contestants that I would be interested in watching their show.

The kid from Giada's team that told about his awful experiences as a hungry child could have really found a very large audience than can relate to hunger and could educate people on eating well with very little money to spend on food.

I think Justine might win.

I think Ippy has made a mistake not playing up his "just hang loose" Hawaiian background. Tales of the islands, simple quick Hawaiian food tastes for all us poor mainlanders who miss Hawaii. I think that would be a better way for him to go rather than becoming someone he's not.

Right now I think Bobby's team is the one with the least "watchable" group.

Now that I am caught up, I have to say Alton is growing on me. Maybe it was thanks to you guys that I started looking at him in a new light.

I still don't really have a favorite, but of everyone remaining I think Bobby's team is now the weakest.

It's funny how first impressions influence us and what it takes to change them. I was never a big Bobby Flay fan. I think it was because I was a huge Iron Chef (the original) and Morimoto fan. I really disliked Bobby initially because of the first battle between him and Morimoto. It took Throwdown to make me come around to him.

I agree his team is the weakest right now. I think Martita is approaching the end of the line too. She freezes too much when it really counts.

I agree with Martita going next...she doesn't seem like she is improving at all. I really think someone with an original POV should win...my final two is Justin and Ippy
