6/19/12 Earlier this month Disney’s Animal Kingdom launched a new nightly series of activities. Starting after the conclusion of the daily parade and ending at park close, the Sundowner Celebration offers special activities in Asia, Africa, and Discovery Island. The activities include speciality food, cooking demonstrations, street parities, bands, art displays, and wine or juice tastings. The serieis of activities continues through June 30, 2012.

Just wondering if anyone has been to this or knows if they have any plans to extend it. We will be there early July and would love to go to it.

Seems very similar to the Taste of Afrika celebration they had in 2010. I thought it was good. Going through the whole park should get a lot more interest in it I presume...

And we missed that one by a couple of weeks too. I'm hoping they extend it another week. We would love to check it out.

Bummer - I would LOVE this too. We don't usuallly go during peak season...

We saw some of this during our trip a few weeks ago. There was a DJ in one section with some dancers inviting people to join them. There was something else but I forget what it was. I didn't see anything about wine tastings--then again, I wasn't looking very hard for them, either.
