It's pricey but they do sell bottles on site. When you factor in the cost of cabbing it to a liquor store and back, it would probably be cheaper to buy on-site.
There is a liquor store next to Gooding's.

Are you legally able to ship liquor from home? We ground ship ourselves a package to the resort with things we don't want to lug on the plane in advance. Maybe they can do something like that.

I don't know if they are associated with Goodings but when I check their site, they will deliver groceries but not alcohol.

Hmmm...shipping it ahead of time sounds interesting but very expensive...will the hotel hold it for you?

It's not that expensive if you plan ahead and yes, all of the resorts will hold packages for you up to two week prior to your check in date.

Have you spoken with Garden Grocer? We added liquor to our grocery order without any issues.

I estimated the amount to ship. It'd be just as much as taking a cab. Might as well take a cab.
How do you contact Garden Grocer? I know they're a bit pricey but I can't imagine it would be all that bad. Do they deliver to all resorts?
Right now they're thinking about taking a shuttle to Downtown Disney and catchig a "city bus" to the nearest gas station or just walking if possible...I'm trying to picture that. I'm thinking I'd just order from Garden Grocer (if possible) or maybe take a cab from Downtown Disney to Hess...might be cheaper.

Before I went through all that, personally, I'd just pay a little bit more and buy a bottle at my resort.

We used Garden Grocer last trip for bread, milk, water, etc. They have a $40.00 minimum you can order for delivery, and I do not see any alcohol / beer options on the website, so that may not be the best option either. To travel to DTD and walk to a gas station also seems a little out of the way for a liquor store trip, not to mention you are wasting valuable vacation time doing so.
I just estimated a 4lb ground ship delivery from UPS, I figured 4 lbs should cover a couple bottles of alcohol. I used Massachusetts to FLA and it came to $12.50.
If the alcohol mark up at Disney is less than that, just buy the alcohol at the resorts store and save yourself the aggrivation.

If you take the bus to Downtown Disney, you can walk to Goodings. It's a mile away or a 15-20 minute walk, even though a little pricier than other shops, it's much cheaper than Disney and probably cheaper than a cab anywhere else.
There is also a Hess Gas station across the street from DTD (Pleasure Island bus stop), they only sell beer and wine.
Take a cab from DTD to the ABC Liquor Store at 11951 South Apopka Vineland Road. There is also Winn Dixie right there (with a huge wine selection) if you need any snacks or sodas.
I'm not bad. I'm just drawn that way.

Me too, unless I was planning on making some major purchases.
