    Default On-Line Check In

    Dear All,

I am going to WDW in June and staying at POFQ.

Which method is going to to get me to the parks faster....on-line or traditional check-in?

I will be using Magical Express and will be at POFQ around 10:00am.

Thanks and have a Magical Day!!!

As long as you will be happy with whatever room they assign to you, and do not have any "requests," online check-in should work better for you. (Of course, that only holds true if there are not a lot of people ahead of you in line making "requests"!!!)

I have found online checkin to be great. I am usually in and out with no problems at all. Then again, I try to check-in at non peak times.

I usually have location requests in my res, so no worries on that one.

    Have a great trip!

Just do online checkin and if you arrive at POFQ and find the online checkin line to be longer than the regular checkin line then just get in the regular line. They will happily grab your packet for you and send you on your way!

    Dear All,

    Thanks for the advice.

My travel agent told me that she has put my request for buildings 3 or 4 on my reservation.

Should I use the on-line check in anyway?

Thanks very much and have a Magical day.

I would. You can still see about getting the request granted when you pick up you packet if it wasn't granted during the room assignment process.

We always check in online and I have been known to be one of "those" people at check in especially at BLT as we normally do lake view which can vary wildly. I do include preferred room numbers on the reservation but last time none of those were available so we took a look to see what was available. We ended up with a fantastic room (middle of the side facing the lake/pool) and were very happy with it. The kids slept through the fireworks better and I loved having the separate room for the laundry and luggage. We might not request being on the MK side again... but it is nice to watch the fireworks from the balcony, enjoying a while the kids sleep.

Another thing about getting your room choice, if you're willing to move they can have you change rooms mid-reservation to get the view you want. With two small kids we have never been willing to do this but it might be worth it for you.

I don't think online check in impacts upgrades either. We always check in online and have been upgraded many times, most recently at Boardwalk from a studio to a 1BR - woohoo! The lady at Boardwalk said she was upgrading us because of the way we handled a crabby, obnoxious guest who pushed in line to get ahead of us, knocking our luggage over and stepping on DH's foot. Sometimes biting your tongue 'til it bleeds pays off.
