Default First stay at Poly. What should I know.

We'll be at the Poly in 57the days. 2 rooms in club level with 4 adults and 3 llittle ones, 4,5 and 7. They won't know they are going til we get there!
Anyway, what do I need to know to make this special? Only four days to enjoy so I want to plan a lot of fun as well as some down time.

When we stayed there a few years ago, it took us a few days to find that the Neverland Club was open to Poly guests during the day (for free). My DD's loved to go in there to play each day.

We also loved begin able to watch Wishes from the beach at night. They have the music playing too.

Enjoy your trip. We stayed at the Poly the first 2x we went to WDW and it was WONDERFUL!

A couple of things off the top of my head, use the resort launch to go to MK. It's a fun way to go and often the fastest way back.

There are movies several nights a week on the beach by the volcano pool and you can get to watch the fireworks and the Electric Water Pageant from there.

Have a great start to your day with Ohana's, breakfast is great and the characters are perfect there for little ones. We spent two years at the Poly, my kids miss it I think. Plus in Club level the gummy sharks are always a great afternoon treat....and dole whips at Capt Cook! I'm jealous just thinking about it!

Missed the club level part. Definitely watch wishes from the lounge. It has a great view. They dim the lights and pipe in the music and at the same time everyone can munch on the cakes and treats and the adults can have free adult beverages. All beverages and food is free in concierge.

The lounge has never been crowded while we were there. Most are watching it from the beach. don't forget you can walk to the T&TC. Saves a lot of time instead of riding the monorail around the track. Be sure and eat at O'hana's at least once. Also utilize the lounge as a relaxer when you want to unwind. Nice and cool and all the food and drinks you want!

Make sure to relax and enjoy it. Younger kids love the beach and zero entry pool and water feature (though the pool does get crowded). Make sure you catch the Electric Water Pageant at night, too, 9 pm. There is so much to enjoy at the resort that you will probably end up spending less time than usual at parks and more time just enjoying your surroundings. The water mice are really fun to take out, but you could rent one of the bigger boats to go out all together, too. You could make a meal out of some of the club level offerings. But also, take a trip to Captain Cook's at some point, great things there too (Dole Whip!).

My favorite things about the Poly: The lush, tropical atmosphere-- it feels transporting. But also the fun of it (all the tiki touches). The beach, just looking out over the lagoon and hearing the sounds of the MK in the distance as you relax. The people- such a great staff of CMs. Very friendly and helpful. The Grand Floridian is my favorite resort, but the Poly really feels like a vacation in itself.

You are going to LOVE IT! The biggest problem with this is that you will always want club level again. The lounge is a great way to watch the fireworks and never crowded.
...I am jealous! I want to go back.
Have a great time, relax, and be ready to be spoiled with attention!

Yea, the wife wanted club level. She thought it would be good for breakfast for the kids. they don't eat much. We'll be using up a couple TS for Narcoossees so we'll be short on meals.

Does the Lounge put out beer in the afternoon and evenings. A couple people in our party would be interested in a couple during an afternoon break I'm sure.

    Beer is available upon request.

I have never found the lounge to be crowded for watching fireworks.

You are going to love Poly club level! It is my favorite!

I just want to throw in another big thumbs up for TONGA TOAST. Remember you can get it at Capt Cook's to go!! Also O'hana is hands down my favoriet place to eat at WDW. Two words: BREAD PUDDING!

Ok now I am trying not to be a downer BUT, be prepared for terrible bus transportation. The monrail and water lauches are great to MK and Epcot. But when we stayed there last June trying to get to AK and HS was a pain!! I think it is pretty ridiculous that you are paying for a deluxe resort yet you have to share buses with other resorts. I understand there are not as many rooms at these deluxe resorts but by the time the bus goes to Contemporary and then over to Poly it is usually packed. One day we were at the bus stop at 7:30 am to get to HS for opening at 9. A bus didn't pick us up until 8:45 am then the bus driver took us on a tour of the entire property ( I was convinced he was scared to make a left turn in the bus). So right turn after right turn we slowly made our way to HS. We did not get there until 9:30!!! To say the least I was pretty put out and I let them know at guest relations at HS and at the front desk at Poly. I am not usually a complainer but each time we went to the bus stop it seemed to be this way.

Loved the Poly when we stayed there! Hope to get there again someday find out what time the torch lighting ceremony is ( I think 6pm not sure) they do it everyday at the front of the resort.. We found out just hanging around the lobby they give out cookies around 3 in the afternoon also . Although you have club level so you can get them when ever you want
We loved laying on the beach listening to the train whistle from the MK
    Enjoy!

For the adults, try the Backscratcher at the bar. Delicious. My oldest son (26) loves breakfast at the little stand outside Kona Cafe (he loves the coffee and raspberry cream Danish). Kona Cafe is a great breakfast place (and is good other times, too).
