Default Panhandle Beaches on the way home?

We will be driving on our next trip...
We are considering stopping and enjoying a beach on the way back home for a day or two (last trip we stopped at Panama City Beach, can't remember the name of the hotel we stayed at). Any recommendations of favorite hotels and stays from those that have done this? We are a family of five that includes two teenage girls
(prayers accepted ). Panama City was great, but we are open to anything that would be nice, yet affordable! Suggestions?

Try the Destin or Fort Walton Beach area this time. We're more family orientated than PCB. The Emerald Grande on the Destin harbor is huge with great views and good food options but pricey. Or try the Okaloosa Island in Fort Walton Beach for more affordable family fun.; maybe Best Western, Hampton Inn, or Ramada Inn. Good luck.

I agree with Destin or FWB as better choices for family visits. Panama city is over-run with spring breakers during this time of year. Beer, liquor, tattoos and body piercings in full view everywhere. Not the place I would choose to take my kids.

Great stuff! To clarify, we would not be visiting until after the 4th of July crowds, so we are hoping to avoid spring break altogether!

I agree with the other's who have said to try the Destin area. We've gone to Destin with our kids since they were babies, very family friendly. We've not been in several years and are returning this summer. Can't wait!!!!!

We're thinking of doing the same thing on our upcoming DW trip. I agree with the posters who are suggesting the Destin/Ft. Walton areas. We haven't been in 8 years but last time we were there we stayed at The Breakers in Ft. Walton and enjoyed our time there. There are various sizes on the condos so you could find what best suits your family.
