If you book 11 months online are you able to change it online at 7 months or do you have to call? I noticed they other day that online booking starts at 8A so that one extra hour could come in handy at busier times.
If you have enough points to cover both bookings, I think online would work. That would permit you to make sure you have the new room before giving up the original room and restoring the points to your account.
I'm not sure how you would move points from one reservation to another online without risking losing what you already have. That is where I think a phone call would be necessary.
I have never tried. I just took a quick look on the member web site and didn't see a way on either the "View Vacation Details" or online booking pages.
