Kidani Village was wonderful
My wife and I just got back from our first stay at the Animal Kingdom Lodge's Kidani Village and it was an incredible six days.
Our studio (room number 7424) was in a great location and close to the elevator down to the Timon section of the parking garage. Our balcony opened up to the Sunset Savanna and we ended up seeing giraffes, zebras, Thompson gazelles, and an ostrich.
The only downside was the fact that we didn't see any animals early in the morning, because my wife was looking forward to some wildlife viewing with her coffee on the balcony.
We saw a lot of animals mid-afternoon after returning from the parks and early in the evening after dinner.
We have stayed in some big, spread-out resorts at Disney (Old Key West, Saratoga Springs, Caribbean Beach), but Kidani Village is huge. When we checked in, we were told that some of the rooms are a half-mile from the lobby.
Parking at the end of the day was a challenge, but we were always lucky to find a spot near the elevator.
The lobby was beautiful, the CM's at the check-in counter and the concierge desk went out of their way to make us feel welcome, and we enjoyed everything the resort had to offer.
Also, kudos to the security guards at the resort entrance. They couldn't have been more gracious and always had a "Welcome Home" greeting for us.
We'd like to thank everyone at Kidani Village for a great week. Like all vacations at WDW, it flew by too quickly.

Just curious as to whether you walked over to Jambo House and how you found it -or did you not feel the need to even go there?
Hi Neighbor! Have a 'Gansett.

It is about a 10 minute walk to the Jambo House and they have signs showing the way. You should probably ask for directions the first time. It is worth it to see the beautiful lobby and they have a couple good restaurants there.

Wow, sounds like you had a lot of animal sightings! I'm afraid to spend the points and then see the lone egret that some have reported.
Glad you had a great trip!

We LOVE Kidani Village! We stayed there in October 2011 for the first time and loved it so much, we booked our June 2012 trip to stay there again! We can't wait!
Glad you enjoyed it!

Glad to hear the good review. We have stayed at the main lodge a few times but are trying Kidani for our next stay.

We didn't get to Jambo House this time, but we've been there in the past for dinner at Jiko. Both of the lobby's at Animal Kingdom Lodge are very impressive. They're right up there with the Wilderness Lodge and the Grand Floridian.
I was a little apprehensive about the animal viewing, but we got more than lucky. Didn't see any animals in the morning, but we saw a lot in the early afternoon after taking a break from the parks, and saw a lot of zebras in the early evening after dinner.
Anyone going in the future should ask for a room somewhere in the area of 7424, the studio that we stayed in. It was close to the Timon elevator, the balcony was right on the Sunset Savanna, and not having a long walk back to the room was a blessing after a busy day at the parks.
