SSR or OKW? HELP!!!

We are planning a spur of the moment trip to WDW. The only resorts available for all the days are SSR and OKW. Which one should we try? There are eight of us going...5 adults and 3 kids (13,11, and 6) Haven't stayed at either one of these before so any advice would be great! HELP!!!

Personally, I prefer OKW. I tried SSR once and wasn't that impressed. We had a room in need of repair and we seem to have alot of bus issues. The rooms at OKW are bigger and with a party of 8 that might be beneficial.

OKW hands down. This is peronally my family's favorite DVC resort. Rooms seem so much larger because of the lay-out and doesn't seem like you are in a normal hotel like SSR does

Our home resort is SSR. It is in need of major Tlc. OKW just recently went through a major reno. And they are the biggest DVC rooms available. I would rdcommend OKW

Our home resort is OKW but unfortunately 4 of our 6 trips we have been forced to SS. We like OKW the best. To me the only thing that SS has over OKW is the food court.

Remember that OKW has lower point values than SSR. The point values at SSR are can be 10-30% higher than OKW, depending on the villa size and the dates you are going.

My family far and above prefers SSR. We really prefer the grounds, food, pool, amenities ( great golfing, SPA and work out facility) etc. With your large group you might want to consider a Tree House. OKW is great though and the rooms are the largest of all the DVCs.

I agree with MinnieMommie. Having stayed at both places, I prefer SSR. I like the more manicured grounds at SSR, amenities, dining options (love the Turf Club) and the fact that SSR has elevators in all buildings, whereas only a couple of buildings at OKW have them. As someone who travels with someone who uses a wheelchair, I like to have an option besides a ground floor room or a far out building.
