Default Our Very Merry DISNEYmoon Celebration - 12/18/2011 - Day 10

Agenda: Akershus, Ohana, MGM Studios EMH

Photos to go along with story: http://photobucket.com/DISNEYmoon10
Today is our last full day in Florida, and what a full day we have. Hollywood studios was having EHM’s to make them stay open until 12am. To make the day even longer we had a 9:40am at Akerhus. Originally we weren’t going to go here but I played the executive decision card because up until now I have been reduced to taking creeper sniper shots from afar. Not today ladies and gentleman, not today!

I made the ADR after arriving back at the hotel the night before. With WDWs new ADR rules I had to make sure this was 100% sure thing because I did not want to get charged $20 for cancelling. Well we got up in enough time to walk over through the international gate way. Although we misjudged the length of time to walk and arrived about 15mins late. Nothing was messed up as our name was called and we were escorted into take our photo with Belle in her yellow dress. I am not sure what is wrong with this belle but she looks so not part of belle… I can totally tell why the photo package is free, in two times we have seen the worst face bell character(s) here. That didn’t bother me, I was here for another gal in a yellow long dress

As soon as we were seated our waiter came up to us and took our drink order and pointed us to the food bar. I really am a fan of this places food. Its SO MUCH better than CRT and the character interaction is just as good. As we were in line for our food we noticed that Aurora was making her rounds. We headed back to our table and waited patiently for her to come around. Each posed for pictures with her. Next up was Cinderella looking as cute as ever. Actually while talking with her about our cat Octavius “gusgus” the announcement came over the PA that the princess processional was starting… A CM in blue shirt gave Cinderealla a bouquet of flowers to which YO! and I were trying to say goodbye to her. LOL but she wouldn’t stop talking to us and proceeded to have us pose for pictures (which is why she has flowers in our pictures…a nice touch). She then said goodbye and started the parade followed by Ariel who posed for a picture for me….then from around the corner came the lady I have been waiting months for… Snow herself looking as amazing as ever. THIS was the face character I have grown to love, or at least one of the better ones I had seen all week. Sometime after this Princess Aurora must have come around, but my mind was elsewhere.

Shortly after the parade ended Snow White made her rounds to our table. She was asking us about our Wedding and then asked us what our favorite moment of or DISNEYmoon has been. I looked at her and said without thinking, “THIS moment RIGHT here Snow!” She giggled and then asked if I wanted a picture with her…Of Course! After our posed shot I asked her if it would be okay if I got a hug. I already asked YO! if I could do that, and she agreed, probably half heartedly lol. We said our goodbyes and I resumed eating the rest of the family style breakfast with a smile on my face. Ariel came up last and she seemed overly ditzy then I remember in the past. She was in character but I just don’t remember her being a total ditz before. Anywho we finished our meal, squared up our meal and left.

Surprisingly world showcase was still not open yet so we had to wait until the CMs got the call on their walkies to move that rope! Once in we walked back towards the international gateway while taking pictures of as many of the xmas stories as possible. We didn’t spend a lot of time here because we would be back tomorrow for our last day. Magic Kingdom was having a MVMCP that night (I think it was the last one or near the last one) and it was sold out but I thought I would keep trying to see If I could get tickets. I mean I would rather spend the last night in the MK over HS anyday!!!

So we gather our things together back at the hotel and grab the car from valet to head over to the poly where we would be eating an early dinner at Ohana. While making our way to the monorail station we found a CM character artist that was in house drawing characters. I decided I would ask him if by chance he had a Jiminey cricket for my Stepmother In-law. What luck he did have one in his stash and signed it and stamped it right there for us

we then hoped on the monorail and headed to the MK in hopes that this wouldn’t be the last time seeing it. As soon as we made it under the train station I made a v-line to the guest relations to ask about tickets. But before I got there a huge sign confirmed what I already knew but hoped it wouldn’t be… TONIGHTS EVENT IS SOLD OUT. So this was it, these were the last few hours we would be at the MK until our family trip in 2013…two years later.

We didn’t really ride any rides but moreso just walked around and took in the sights and sounds. As we rounded the corner back by the mad tea party I decided to put on my sniper lens and take some shots of beast castle and the fantasyland expansion. I think I got some good shots haha.

I kept wanting to view the parade from above the train station so this should be as good of day as ever to do so. We paused for a moment to watch the stage show. I felt like I knew it word for word as I heard it 3 times from our hotel room at the Poly while YO! napped.

We found a great spot on the second floor platform and claimed some seats. These proved to be perfect seats as I got some really good parade shots with no obstructions. After the parade we remembered that we had not been on the train at all, that was unacceptable…so we hitched a ride around full circle. After disembarking we made our way back up mainstreet USA one last time where we dined on our first ever Caseys Hotdog. Pretty yummy although it would probably we a little better tasting if we were so stuffed with food all throughout the trip With that CS we are at +3 credits remaining

We slowly ate because when we finished it was time to face the music that our time at MK was over. We said our goodbyes and walked even slower towards the exit. You would think we were leaving to go home by the way we felt. Sunglasses are key for this final goodbye.

We probably shouldn’t have kept our Ohana reservation (but the new system made it impossible for us to cancel…) so we went and ate some food. I like Ohana a lot but once again it was probably something that would be more enjoyed if we weren’t eating all the time every day haha.

After dinner I checked out my watch and realized that if we hurried we could make it to HS for the last showing of Fantasmic. What the heck lets go for it, its our last night! It was when we parked that I realized just how close HS was to the Boardwalk.. and to think we walked for 20mins to get there in the AM a few days before. The tram drivers were something we forgot we were missing by not driving to the parks. They are right, they are an attraction in themselves. Upon loading up the tram guy said, “Hey we have special Guests on board ladies and gentleman… a Bride and Groom!! Everyone turn around and wave!!!” haha no body did anything but the guy came up to us and congratulated us and said he tried haha.

YO! was complaining about being cold and I don’t blame her, this was one of the coldest days in the park at night so far. So we stopped in a shop immediately inside the gates and found her something to wear. This was key as we were going to be there for a few hours and it wasn’t going to get any warmer.

In the shop I was constantly looking at my phone for time, we had literally 20mins to Fantasmic and we weren’t even in line. So we finally pay and head down the street towards the entrance. All was good except the line was soooo far back into the street it was almost hopeless. Surprisingly I forgot just how big this venue really was. We got in no problem and were seated almost all the way to the far left about halfway up. Decent seats for the show and YO! was pleasantly surprised.

After fantasmic it was time to check out the Osborne lights again and get some more photopass shots. We spotted Cami, our new photopass friend, again and waited behind her for her turn around. When she did she didn’t immediately register it was us, then she did. She got super excited and told us to get in line to get a picture again. So we did and just as she was getting us situated I grabbed her shoulder and said, “hey you can’t just walk away, we came here to get a picture WITH you!” so we all paused for a picture both on my camera and then via photopass. We talked for a bit and she said that it was so touching we came back to see her because so often she bonds with people and then she never sees them again. She literally had tears in her eyes she was so excited we came specifically to see her. Which is why I have a thread out on Intercot asking if anyone knows of a Photopass DPI lady by the name of CAMI from Brazil it would be much appreciated if we could get connected to her. She works there permanently, so we will be looking for her during our next trip!

The long day was starting to catch up to us so we decided to pack it in and say goodnight to WDW. We drove back to the boardwalk and I decided to not pay for valet (or pay for tip) so we looked for a spot in the self park. Funny enough a front row spot was wide open so we grabbed it double checking to make sure it wasn’t handicap…it wasn’t. This will be perfect for loading our car up so we could head over to epcot before leaving to the airport.

Despite all the food we have been eating we were both feeling a little hungry. We walked out onto the boardwalk and found the pizza window open and they accepted the dining plan!! So we asked how many credits would be for a pizza. For 2TS credits you got a large pizza, two drinks and two desserts. Perfect use of points which left us with just 1TS credit left As luck would have it a boat captain came up behind us and was ordering just a slice of pizza… To which I insisted that he add a drink and dessert and let me pay for it!! Lol he said he remembered us from a few days before on the boat ahaha well that is good but I really would like to buy you a dinner! Despite my begging he ultimately turned me down because he couldn’t accept that from a guest. Which makes sense, but I am still +1 TS with just under ½ day left.

We took the pizza and our +1 credit back to the room to eat. Not exactly needed but it tasted really good. Soon after finishing we tucked ourselves into bed for the last time at the boardwalk…. Sweet last night dreams… for tomorrow is up and adam for packing.

    To Be Continued…
