What about March?? Thinking of going.

My brother and his family want to take my niece to WDW for the first time for her birthday in March 2013. We were planning on going in Nov. 2013 to see all the decorations and such. Her birthday is March 2nd. He wants us to go when they go. The times that I have been are Sept (low attendance/hot weather), May (mod. attendance) and Oct/Nov (low to mod crowds and beautiful weather). How is March? Is there anything going on that I should know about? How are the crowds and weather. One plus is that I don't have to wait as long to get there!! lol Thanks!

I was at WDW in March 2008. As far crowds, we there for the week after Easter, so it was spring break and the crowd levels were very high.
Easter in 2013 is March 31. I know most spring breaks from where I am from (NJ) are the week before and the week after Easter. Expect high crowd levels those weeks.
As far as WDW events, the Flower and Garden Festival is going on at Epcot and the Atlanta Braves have their spring training at the Wide World of Sports.

Weather in March when we were there was very nice. Highs were in the 80s with overnight lows in the 50s, which meant tee shirts and shorts during the day and a light jacket or sweatshirt at night. We got rain for only about an hour the whole trip.

I would go back again in March. If you don't want to deal with heavy crowds, avoid the spring break weeks.

We went march of last year and are heading back at the begining of march. One thing to watch out for also is Mardi Gras. Believe it or not...but a lot of people from my home state run to Orlando to get away from Mardi Gras lol. Also there were a large amount of High School kids there due to some time of testing going on... but they all stayed at the All-Stars. Other than that the weather was really nice, and the crowd levels were manageable IMO

Spring break. Many of US and Canada schools have spring break the 2 or 3rd week of March. Others tie it to Easter. In my experience the first 9 or 10 days of March are fine. The parks are running full tilt getting into spring break mode. It does start getting crowded around the 11-13th. Weather is varied. We have done waterparks on the warm sunny days and sweatshirts or coats on cool days. If you know what you are doing the crowds are manageable and it is not 92F and muggy.

We always did mid-March for most trips in 80s and 90s.
Moderate crowds. Temps from upper 30s thru 70s. Flannel shirt weather for most days.
