2 Universal Studios Rides Stop After Technical Problems
ORLANDO, Fla. -- Two rides at Universal Studios were stopped after safety systems detected malfunctions, according to a theme park official.
Officials said a technical glitch stopped the Mummy ride at about 5:30 p.m. The Orlando Fire Department helped to assist guests off of the ride.
“We traditionally call OFD quickly for assistance,” Universal Studios spokeswoman Alyson Lundell said.
About 12 guests on the ride were safely assisted off of the ride, which was about 10 feet off of the ground.
Before all of the firefighters left Universal, they were notified that the E.T. ride had stopped and that guests needed assistance off of that ride as well.
No injuries were reported in the incidents, Lundell said.
Technicians were inspecting both rides to find out what happened and to determine when it would be safe to reopen the rides.

Glad to hear these incidents weren't serious. There was speculation earlier that Mummy had derailed.
