    Default January Campfire Movie Schedule

Happy New Year, Campers! It can be chilly at the evening campfire program at this time of year, so dress warmly and bring a blanket as you head out to enjoy some hot chocolate and marshmallows at the Fort Wilderness campfire. During the evening you can sing some Disney songs, laugh with our nutty friends, Chip & Dale, and watch a Disney movie under the stars. The campfire is lit at 6:30 nightly, followed by the Sing-a-long at 7:00, and the movie at 7:40. Here is your movie schedule for January:

    Jan 1 Enchanted (PG)
    Jan 2 The Incredibles (PG)
Jan 3 The Emperor's New Groove
    Jan 4 Herbie Fully Loaded
    Jan 5 Dinosaur (PG)
    Jan 6 Brother Bear
Jan 7 Remember the Titans (PG)
Jan 8 The Sorcerer's Apprentice (PG)

    Jan 11 Bolt (PG)
Jan 12 Alice in Wonderland (Tim Burton) (PG)
    Jan 13 Tron: Legacy (PG)

Are any other campfire/outdoor movie experiences at Disney World comparable to what is offered at Fort Wilderness? I've read that the Beach Club Resort has a campfire and "movie on the beach" program that might be fun. This is my first time at the parks, we're taking a 3-year old, and a nightly campfire and movie after dinner seems like a great way to relax after a long day at the parks. We'll be staying January 28-February 5, 2012.

Another question -- will the January movie schedule hold through February 4 given that the week starts with a January date?

Appreciate any guidance. Thank you for publishing the movie schedules.

Yes. Most of the resorts have an evening movie, usually at poolside. But none are as elaborate and entertaining as the campfire at Fort Wilderness.

The monthly schedule is released on the first day of the month that the movies are shown. For example, the list of February movies will be released on February 1st.

Thanks for posting this every month. I enjoy reading the list every month, even though I can't be there. It looks like they don't play the old movies as often anymore. We have some good memories of watching The Apple Dumpling Gang etc. I'll never forget watching BlackBeard's Ghost with my niece a couple years ago. When they got to the scene where Dean Jones and Suzanne Pleshette are "shooting guns" with their hands, it totally caught us by surprise. We were really laughing hard. Not that many movies have that effect any more.
Too numerous visits to count. Resorts stayed at include:

    Bay Lake Tower
    Contemporary
    Fort WIlderness
    Beach Club Villas
    Yacht Club
    Board Walk Villas
    Swan
    Dolphin
    Polynesian
    Port Orleans Riverside
    Saratoga Springs
    Animal Kingdom Lodge
    Wilderness Lodge Villas
    WIlderness Lodge

You are right. They seem to be showing the old favorites less nowadays. But I guess they have to try to please everyone.
