Question Planning a June 2012 Trip - Mod or Dlx?

Hubby and I went in Jan/Feb. 2009 to celebrate our 20th anniversary - thanks to these boards for all the tips and hints.

Now, I'm planning a Senior Graduation gift trip for my daughter who is graduating HS a full year early. It is going to a Mother/Daughter trip and now the big decision - Moderate or Deluxe Resort? And why do you recommend which resort?

Of course it depends on how much money you want to spend, but since it's a celebration, and if you can swing it, I'd like to reccommend the Animal Kingdom Lodge. The first time I brought my daughters is when my youngest graduated high school in 2008, and this is where we stayed. We consider it "home" now. We just love it. It is beautifully decorated and, of course, there are the animals to watch. I'd also reccommend the Polyneisian Resort. We tried it last year and it's really nice too and we plan to go back there in a couple of years. I haven't tried the moderates, so I really can't give an opinion on them, but I think you just can't go wrong with either the AKL or the Poly! Have fun planning!!

There are some great choices in both categories.

Grand Floridian - very large rooms. Lovely resort.

    Poly - what wonderful ambiance.

Bay Lake Tower - terrific location.

Coronado Springs - a moderate with many of the deluxe amenities.

Port Orleans French Quarter - an intimate resort

Wilderness Lodge - close to the Magic Kingdom and just a lovely place

Animal Kingdom Lodge - all those animals!
