Default Buying Diapers Once We Get There?

Hello, Dears! It's been awhile, but hopefully we are now planning my the first trip for my Little Grandprincess! I tried looking around, but I'm just asking--how much does it cost to purchase a box of diapers and where do you usually get them? I've seen Garden Grocer mentioned. We're trying to travel as light as possible.

Garden Grocer is great! I was more than thrilled to order diapers rather than bring them with us, along with several other essential items it was easy to spend $50 and get the free delivery.

I have also seen others mention that they have ordered online from Costco's website and shipped to their resort for a reasonable fee. So perhaps diapers and a case of bottled water would be a good idea?

Since my experience is with Garden Grocer, I'd give them two thumbs up!

Have a magical time with your grandprincess

Please note: Garden Grocer has a $40 minimum order. You must have a $200 order to receive free delivery. Orders under $200 have a $12 delivery charge.

    Thanks for your responses!
Do you have any idea what a box of diapers runs there, ball park?

Another idea is to mail down some items ahead of time. About a week or so ahead, I get a decent sized box and fill it with diapers, wipes, snacks, breakfast items, toiletries, sunscreen etc... It usually costs about $25 to mail the box and I add delivery confirmation to it so I can know when it gets there! Just a thought.

I see that alot of people do this but I can't understand why. Garden Grocer has a $12 delivery charge and has everything under the sun. Their prices are reasonable. By the time you buy a box, pay for shipping and delivery confimation it costs more than just ordering a delivery from them. When you send yourself a box you still need to order your refrigerated items. Am I missing something?

They have a web site that lists all of their prices. I have never had any problems with my deliveries and the whole process is stress free.

I agree. A few years back I shipped a small box to our resort (shipping was only $9) but at the time I did not need a lot of items - enough to justify a Garden Grocer order. Last trip in April I ordered from Garden Grocer and it was wonderful! Their prices are reasonable, and their service is fantastic. Will always be using them for future trips.

Diapers are pretty expensive with GG and even more in the gift shops and come in very small packages. I would do like someone suggested and mail a box of all your baby care needs down to the resort a week before you are supposed to be there. It works out really well.

    Here's a comparison:

Garden Grocer Huggies size 4 Snug & Dry

    82 count $24.99
    108 count $29.99

Walmart Huggies size 4 Snug & Dry

    92 count $25.00
    108 count $25.00

IMO the small price difference does not make up for spending the money to mail a package down to Florida.

This is just my opinion. Before going through the trouble and expense of mailing a box (I do alot of ebay so I know how expensive it is to mail things) go on Garden Grocer's (or any other grocery delievery business) web site and compare the prices of what you will need yourself. Then check out the cost of mailing a heavy box from where you live to FL. Mailing a box from NC to FL is a totally different cost than mailing a box from SD to FL. The Post Office web site has a shipping calculator that is very accurate.
