    Default Swimming for Exercise

I've begun swimming laps regularly for exercise since my last visit to DisneyWorld, and although I know all the Disney hotels have pools, I've never checked to see if any of them have lanes devoted to people who want to swim for exercise. Does anyone have any information about this? I'm staying at the Animal Kingdom Lodge in November; it would be fantastic if I could keep exercising, although with all the walking one does in DisneyWorld I'm sure I can make do without the swimming for a week.

I don't recall ever seeing any lap pools, although if you time it right you could probably do laps in a quiet pool when it's not busy.

That might wind up being my best bet...get to the pool early in the morning around 8-ish or so.

    Thanks!

I'll just call Animal Kingdom Lodge and ask, then. Never hurts to ask.

    Thanks!

I usually walk around the pool area at AKL when we go to Boma & I never noticed any but I'm not 100% sure.
Late at night is probably your best be if you stay up late.

On nights when there aren't any late night Magic Hours that could work well.

    Thanks!

I've done some swimming at a lap pool they have at Coronado, but that's not going to help you much! I expect your best bet is to head to the main pool at AKL earlier in the morning and do your swimming then. There aren't lap lanes at the main pool, but it's a big pool and should offer you a good chance to do your swimming. And I do understand what you're saying about all the walking - but from my experience, sometimes the lap swimming can actually help loosen up your muscles and help you feel better for more walking! Have a nice trip....

As far as I know there is only one pool at Jambo and one at Kadani. There are no lap pools but they are large pools.Try to get up very early and swim laps.

    Thanks "ThanksforNoticin" and "BugeyedMuggy!"

That's probably the most attractive option to me: swimming early. I'll be rooming with my brother, who sleeps MUCH later than I do, even when I'm sleeping in on vacation...so that gives me something to do while waiting for him to roll out'a bed. Plus, given that it's November, it would probably be more comfortable temperature-wise to swim in the morning than to swim later in the evening.

And I do take your point, "ThanksforNoticin," about using swimming to limber up for the walking. My joints tend to be stiffer when I first get up (and I expect they'll be even more so with all that walking every day), and a good swim is a perfect way to unstiffen them.
