Test Track Refurb 2012

Resurrecting a sort of old thread... The Test Track refurb plans are supposedly making progress... new logos are designed for the CM uniforms... The logos are in the shape of the Chevy logo with TEST TRACK printed inside the logo... As for the elements, well, word online is forget the WoM hybrid... Mostly everything inside will stay the say... The queue, pre show and post show will get some sort of update/overhaul... And some sort of Tron-ish style may be added to the cars and possibly in the ride itself... No, this isn't a Tron overlay to Test Track... So don't worry, Tron isn't invading Epcot...

Always, take these words as rumor until Disney makes some sort of official announcement...

I'll be really curious to see how this turns out. I love TT, but the last time I was on it looked shabby to say the least. Having said that, I won't be as excited if this Next Gen stuff really takes hold. It always sounds good to start, but ends up looking really badly really quickly (Pooh, I'm talking to you.)

As far as I'm concerned all they really need to do to TT is change that horrid pre-show. it's so dated!

I believe that not all the shutdowns involve malfunctions. Some of them occur due to the safety features of the ride that kick in when things happen. Mufasa wrote an extensive post on this a while back; I'll see if I can find it.

Because of the outdoor track , a lot of shutdowns are due to weather. Especially in the summer because as us Floridians know, it rains daily in the summer, usually between 12-4. Also if there is high winds that effects the outdoor track as well.

I am glad they are refurbing for safety reasons. In October, we decided to go on TT. We had loaded into our car, and went around for the seatbelt check. The car in front of us got to the CM and pulled up on the seatbelts, AND EVERY SINGLE ONE UNHOOKED. The look on the CM's face said to me that she had never seen anything like it before. They unloaded them and brought an empty car around so they can still ride, but I have NEVER seen a ride vehicle fail a seatbelt/lap bar test before. I was shocked. Needless to say, I pulled on my seatbelt as hard as I could to make sure that sucker was staying.

Several parts of the new interactive queue don't work and other parts are looking decidedly worn, even after such a short time. Mostly because kids do what kids often do - they run in and jerk, pull, slam, and otherwise go crazy with the stuff. So, the Pooh queue is quickly looking like the exhibits in most children's museums.
