Need reservations when just getting drinks at CG?

Do you need reservations just to get up to CG, even if you're just having a nightcap?

If there's room, they will allow you to go up to the lounge without reservations. But....if it's crowded, you won't be allowed up.

I've never been turned away, but I am aware that this does happen, depending on crowds. Also, they stop serving between 11 and 11:30.

We have had drinks at California Grill nearly everytime we have done our Monorail Drink-a-Thon, and we have never made reservations. I would guess on holidays you might not be able to just go up, but in over twenty MDaT excursions, we've never had trouble.

I am in Orlando fairly often for work and usually try to get to CG for dinner and/or drinks at the bar about once a month or so. I have not been turned away. The traffic at the bar comes and goes, so if it is at first crowded, wait a bit and it will clear out--and the bartenders are GREAT!
